Indeed, Hospital Corporation of America commits itself to the care and improvement of human life and strives to deliver high-quality, cost-effective healthcare in the communities they serve. It is also committed to a healthy work environment (Hospital Corporation of America, 2013).
I will perform an external and internal environmental analysis of the proposed strategic plan using relevant resources for analysis.

I propose that the strategic plan for Hospital Corporation of America should address cultural diversity, environmental sustainability, effective health care, and innovation across its 162 hospitals and 113 freestanding surgery centers. The proposed strategic plan should align with the organization’s vision, mission, and people strategies and values statements. Indeed, where the organization operates in different states and cultures across the globe, offers a wide range of healthcare services, and has large medical personnel, it requires an effective strategic plan. It will also carry out an external and internal environmental analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed strategic plan. The research proposal, which seeks to align the proposed strategic plan with the organization’s vision and mission, is very fundamental as it ensures that the organization achieves its goals and objectives while the patients receive effective healthcare.

There is a proposed strategic plan for Hospital Corporation of America. The research seeks to show how I intend to ensure the organization's vision, mission, and people strategies and values statements align with the proposed strategic plan. It also seeks to highlight the sources I expect to use to perform an external and internal environmental analysis. Notably, there has been previous research on strategic plans and environmental analysis on organizations but there is a need to for this research since every organization is unique and the modern world presents new dynamics to organization operations.

In ensuring that the organization's vision, mission, and people strategies and values statements are aligned with the proposed strategic plan, I will ensure that the management and other stakeholders have complete information on the proposed strategic plan. I can achieve this by organizing training and seminars on the proposed strategic plan. I will also seek to enshrine the strategic plan in the organizational culture of the Hospital Corporation of America. I will also establish an effective communication channel to ensure that the management passes the organization's culture to the new employees. I will use a centralized system of governance to ensure that the 162 hospitals and 113 freestanding surgery centers get directions from the headquarters. Ultimately, I will do more research on the proposed strategic plan to ensure that it does not conflict with the organization’s vision, mission, and people strategies and values statements.

I expect to use various sources to perform an external environmental analysis. The external environment analysis will entail a study of factors, which affect Hospital Corporation of America but are out of its control. Such factors include health sector factors, social factors, and political factors. To analyze these factors, I will use the SWOT analysis to address the opportunities and threats of the organization. I will also use the PESTLE analysis to address the political, environmental, social, technological, legal, and economic factors. Porter's five forces will also help me to analyze competition from external sources.

I expect to use various sources to perform an internal environmental analysis. The internal environment analysis will entail a study of factors within the organization, which influence its operation. These factors include management leadership styles, the organization’s vision, and mission, interactions within the organization, and employee behavior. To analyze these factors, I will use the SWOT analysis to address the strengths and weaknesses of the organization. I will also use Porter’s five forces to analyze the bargaining power of suppliers and the bargaining power of customers.
