On the other side, the opponents of SOPA state that it can include the new unpredictable liabilities of the websites which can hamper the “private rights of action”. Facebook, Twitter, and many others companies encouraged political protests through the help of social media. They were also engaged in traditional protests like campaigning, and letter writing.

In a business, the importance of stakeholders can never be ignored. The different stakeholders have different opinions on the issue of SOPA implementation. There are two types of stakeholders present in the market namely the market stakeholders and non-market stakeholders.

Employees: In case the bill is passed the employees would be majorly affected because the employees of the organizations like Facebook, and Twitter consider the new media can be immensely hampered by the law. If the company would not get permission to run specific functions due to the act then the possibility of major cost-cutting may arise. In the cost-cutting policies, it is obvious to take a layoff initiative for the organizations. This can be the biggest threat to the employees. The employees’ salience is moderate in this case as the employees themselves cannot change certain policies of the government.

Managers: The managers of the opposition companies also can face high threats due to government policies. The managers are the major decision makers of the business and the manager's bargaining power is always high as they are well efficient in lobbying and manipulating political powers in their favor. In case, the bill is passed in the US House most of the managers would be affected hardly as they would have to miss their high remuneration due to the cost-cutting and they have to take initiative to retrench the companies in the crisis.

Customers: Customers always prefer the product which they can get at a low cost. The popularity of pirated music and films increased because of the reason that customers prefer cheap products. Many customers would be barred from getting the opportunity of private rights of options. Many people will be barred from enjoying creativity at a low cost. Providing high costs for these services might not be possible for all kinds of customers. The salience is very high for the customers, as they are powerful to force the government to take any decision, and their reaction will also be urgent as they are affected highly (Freeman, 2010, p.54).

Government: The government has the power to take all the decisions regarding this matter but it is not in a hurry to take immediate steps as it has taken the shape of power politics. By evaluating both sides' arguments and the political power games, the government would take its decision.

Media: The opposition to this law is hugely using the media to display their protests. All the defending companies are using mostly social media along with the other media to present their views in front of the government and community.

Community: Different online communities responded against the bill suggested in the US house. The combined protest from the media, customers, and communities is so high that the government is rethinking to implementation of the bill.

Every year film and music-producing companies make a huge loss due to the piracy factor. This is not a good picture for an industry to sustain in long term. The government needs to implement a law that could protect these music or film companies’ stakes for the long run but not at the cost of the new media companies' business. There should be some clear proposals from the new media companies to prevent piracy. There can be a new structure involved where the music and film-making companies could be beneficial by getting a part of remuneration from the new media companies. But this will take some time to get implemented.
