Most of the people have begun being cautious of various vaccines offered to the children. The doubt has been high among mothers. The controversy had been the increasing number of autism cases at the period when vaccination gained greater acceptance in the society (Nature Publishing Group (NPG) 2014). The rise of cases has led to the conclusion by many people that autism is caused by vaccination.

As a result, many parents have been worried of the increased dependence on vaccine as their priority is keeping their children safe. The other worry is that children are exposed to too many shots of vaccines than was the case in the past. As a result, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has come up with a video that is meant to dispel the notion that is becoming common especially among mothers.The controversy has no basis in science. It has been established through various research done in the past that there is no linkage between childhood vaccination and development of autism.

In fact, as Jeanne Santoli from CDC notes, a number of studies have been done since 2002, and none proved that there is a link between vaccines and autism (CDC 2009). I think parents should not have the option to choose whether to vaccinate the children. This is because giving option to the mother will ultimately affect other children and society. For example, failure for a parent to vaccinate a child, such a child may get measles and in end transmit to other children. Consequently, it will be challenging controlling some of the diseases that have been eliminated in the past such as polio.
