Arguably, feminist ethnography is a research methodology that entails observational study on participants over time (Abu-Lughod 9). In addition, the research examines the social fabric and organization of women in society. This research is conducted to women and explores the challenges and problems that women face in society. I can firmly state that my visit at the institution help me understand that female ethnography is essential in understanding the operation of the female gender. Lengthy conversation with students affirmed my position that feminist ethnography does not rule out rationality, rather the theory foreground the relationship with men (Aune 22). Notably, this concept is critical in this facility since it educates tolerance and respect for the dignity of individuals. In other words, the participants can be the restraint to the limitations of each since they are restraint their frustrations Inherently, the hallmarks of feminist ethnography are everywhere, from how sports are organized to discussions. I noted that this approach entails immersion the social context of females in society with the reason of collecting data and recounting in an intelligible way. This study examines the data collected on how females live in the society (Visweswaran 24). More so, this is a relation study and experience to the ethnographer. This is because the aims of the ethnographer seek to establish a relationship with the people he spends time. The ethnographer can understand the underlying assumptions and beliefs since one enjoys a cordial relationship with participants. As a staunch supporter of feminist ethnography, I noted that the facility entails voicing the concerns of the marginalized women in society by representing and making their experiences understood and known. This is critical since it helps in constructing the lives of the participants; in essence, they are taught on recognizing the relevance of diversity among women and men. Feminist ethnography helps in constructing the lives of the voiceless by deviating from victimhood to reality. My cordial relationship with participants revealed that they are taught on the consequences of their choices (Wolcott 23). This is because constraint and choices are intertwined in the lives of women. This is possible by incorporating symbolic and material realms that accept their accounts as partial. The environment of women’s center established in San Francisco State, USA is welcoming. You can feel the air, breeze, paintings, and the way management address visitors and feel the warmth. The arrangement of buildings, security fence and hallways is a testament that the center is the safest haven for students with problems related to rape, insecurity about their bodies and denim day. The ambience of the facility is welcoming and homely as students are free to express their feeling without fear of intimidation. This study requires that the interviewer stay with the respondents for a long time. Inherently, the environment that the students are staying provides them a chance to examine and discuss problems that women face in the society. The management of the facility comprised of awesome guys and I felt that my research will yield the result from the moment I finished requesting permission from the administration to conduct the study. Upon entering the facility, I noted that they are open, welcoming and accepting every person regardless of their status. Therefore, the environment is safe for all students regardless of their past misdeeds and horrifying experiences (Schensul 78). I personally visited Women’s Center situated in the SF State University and conducted the research on issues relating to rape, insecurity about their bodies and denim day. The students have been taught of respecting other peoples’ dignity and self-respecting. I can affirm and attest that this facility enables students to relax and express their feelings fully without fear. This center is dedicated to assist females in the school and while in this center the girls find themselves to be more comfortable and relaxed in the absence of the boys (Kagan 167). This University Women’s Center is a place where females feel very secure since it was specially created and designed to assist females thus when at this center they have a positive feeling of superiority. My conversation with the students helped me to understand that diversity is essential in society and workplace, as well as, hence the need to teach students to embrace this concept is critical. The facility helps in bringing up issues that students face and help them in their lives. Fear of associating with men and boys can affect socialization. The social fabric demands that we engage one another in conversation on issues that face the society. The feeling of guaranteed security has a positive impact on their performance in around the campus. The presence of male students influences the minds of the girls with regards to making decisions, due to the very fact that male exploits their physical superiority for seeking psychological domination over the female students in general (Stromquist 4). On entering, the center one can feel that the center is a home of comfort dedicated for females around school. The wall is painted chartreuse and presents a bright environment which gives a joyful notion. The room is well ventilated and airy thus it presents a place where one can be cool. The center is equipped with sofas that offer comfort and the presence of shelves stocked with women literature gives a feeling of women empowerment (Wolcott 5). The center presents a homely feeling as it has a team of interns who openly welcome members warmly and readily offer to give their service. I personally seek relief in an environment meant for females only, a state that does not allow the powerful and dominant males to subjugate the members of delicate gender by applying physical force or any other method that could demonstrate their influence and superiority in different ways (Stromquist 6). In conclusion, the University women center is a facility that plays a big role in the life molding of females around the university. By providing a sense of belonging to girls around the institution, makes females feel more united since they have a special facility that links them together. Since this womens group serves both students and staff members the unification is further enhanced. The center provides a place where females can get together and receive special guidance and counseling about issue like rape and physical abuse.
