Asian American film and median An Asian America is someone who was born in Asia or whom his family originates from Asia. This means that Asian Americans are the outcome of an Asian and an American. They are commonly referred to “yellow peril” (Ono and Pham 25). http://www.bubblews.com/news/470397-5-reasons-why-bruce-lee-was-super-human The Asian American people are a great threat to the Americans due to their powerful potential, and that the American government is also highly risked. This is due to the Asian Americans and Asians masculine nature and that most Asians and Asian Americans have strong muscles (Flood, Gardiner, Pease and Pringle 30). Asians and Asian Americans are considered muscular because even in the book Asian Americans and the media there is an incident where Lumberjack is riding a stationary exercise bicycle while Dong is sitting on her lap while later Dong is seen riding on a bicycle while Lumberjack is lifting the barbells (Ono and Pham 71). Lumberjack who is an Asian American lady and she is stronger than Dong. In movies, many of the actors or the strong character traits are given to the Asian Americans for instance in the Hollywood films. Asians are always portrayed as strong and powerful people. Bruce lee who is a Chinese American in most of his films presents the Asian Americans as strong, handsome and physically fit people. This can also be proved by the yellow face whereby some of the actors in other films want to imitate what the Asians and Asian Americans do in their films. They have also copied their foods, and now they are available in many hotels and restaurants in the America. The Asian American masculinity and courageous nature is shown in the American television show The walking dead shows which are a story of America after a zombie outbreak. Glen is a character who is seen very cunning by running and plotting his way out and surviving the zombies attack. http://www.geekquality.com/glenn/ Asians and Asians Americans women are also sexually seductive. Asian Americans and Asians women are “aesthetically pleasing, sexually willing and speechless dark and primitive” (Ono and Pham 63). This is their stereotypical representation according to the whites. This means that Asian women are just nice and beautiful people to stay with. By the fact that they are sex willing implies that they are very ready to satisfy their lovers in terms of sex. Asians and Asian Americans are also considered beautiful. Despite the women being so seductive the men are considered to be tyrannical and lecherous and very cruel in dealing with women, and they show most of their interest in the European American ladies (Ono and Pham 63). After the zombie attack, Glen falls in love with a white lady called Maggie. This is used to prove that he is both strong, and Maggie feels save in his arms and also proves that Asian Americans are lovely to the white ladies also known Euro-Americans. For Asians and Asian Americans men, this is believed to be so harsh and behave rudely to the women hence they like being associated with Euro-American ladies. Most of them fall in love with Euro-American ladies in most of the films which they produce, and they end up marrying. This difference in the character of the Asians and the Asian Americans is connected to the colonialism which is dated back in the colonial days. Most of the colonizers thought it an easy task for a white man to fall in love with the beautiful Asians while they thought the Asian men and Asian American men are very inferior in love and hence they cannot be in love with their white ladies from the colonialists. This means that the colonialist’s men wanted to experience power over their women by themselves wanting to fall in love with Asian or American Asian women if they wish to while them, never thought that the Asians American men would fall in love with their men. The Euro-Americans took advantage of the Asian and Asian American men being cruel and ruthless to the women as the way of getting them to protect them hence they find themselves in love. http://fuckyeahapihistory.tumblr.com/ The Asians and Asian Americans are also very united and are considered to have solidarity as one of their character traits. They are considered to have a “reactive solidarity” (Ono and Pham 99). This is mostly shown during the anti-Asian and anti-Asian American sentiments. These are people who seem much united in how they demonstrate their issues to the public or to the government. They show no bit of fear in demonstrating in the US but instead show how courageous they are during those demonstrations because they are not easily shaken by the police. It also shows the implicit yellow face that all the Asians are the same despite their geographical position. Vincents chin had been killed the Asians had demonstrations which they had on the basis that “racism could not tell them apart” (Yu-Wen, Shen Wu and Chen 49). It shows that they are very united, and nothing can tear their unity apart. On mimicry and mockery most Asians and Asian-Americans do not like the way the whites mimic their way of speaking mainly through “Ching Chong speech”. Mimicking is the act of trying to do something as another person has done it before or does it normally. Most of the non Asians and Asian-Americans like the yellow face logic Asians and Asian-Americans in their dealing such as during acting some of the Europeans want to act like the Asians and Asian-Americans. Some of them mock the Asians and the Asian Americans by calling them inferior, irresistible to disease and people who only depend on the whites for ideas and solutions. They also make fun of them calling them as forever foreigner stereotype people (Ono and Pham 100) http://www.asianfoods.com/ The Asians and Asian-Americans are well known for their preparation of high quality foods and tasty foods. Their good preparation of food is dated from the World War II when in the Japanese internment were prohibited from their custom eating of food because according to their custom they would sit down in around table and share their meals as a family but due to the colonialism they had to stop this while in the camps. They were unable to share foods in their custom manner, and this affected the youths so much (Ji-song Ku, Manalansan and Mannur 120). “I would love to have lots of Asian food” (Ono and Pham 182). These are words form Jeff who is neither an Asian nor an Asian-American, and this shows that most of the non Asians like the Asian food because they are unique. During the television presentation about foods, Asian-American food is commonly discussed, and their recipes given through the media. This serves as enough evidence to prove that Asian American foods are of great interest in the America and hence capture the attention of many Americans. http://www.yam-mag.com/features/film-features/five-asian-movies-that-should-be-released-in-peru/ Asians have also strived to give a representation of their identity in the media sources, in America and all over the world ‘mainly the internet’ (Ono and Pham 140). The Asian Americans have come up with many films. VC which is in Los Angeles in the us provides Asian Americans independent actors, producers, directors and casting agents with a chance to interact with dominant media players. The AVC’s festival national tour and rental library play a major role in distributing the Asian American films over wide geographical region. CAAM is an educational institution which also plays this role of marketing the Asian American independent films through allowing the viewing ad purchase of these Asian American films (Hartlep 222). SFIAAF is the other organization which also helps in distribution and marketing of Asian American independent films whereby it exhibits more than 130 Asian American films per year. These are just examples of Asian American independent media which the Asian Americans use to market their films. On top of this, the Asian Americans have also started using the new media services like the internet to pass out their ideas to the world. Some of them like Kim are using the YouTube discourse to pass out ideas to other Asian Americans. An example was when Kim used the YouTube to call for Asian American political participation (Ono and Pham 151). There were very many comments on Kim’s massage via the YouTube to show that the Asian Americans are also using the new media to pass information to one another and market their products. They have also posted their films and demonstration cooking recipes and other items to the new media for people to use and through this they will be able to realize the Asian Americans identity. There earlier in the 19th century the Americans believed the Asian Americans and the Chinese immigrants who are an example of non whites are "physically inferior, morally suspect, heathen, licentious, disease ridden, in ferial, violent, infantile and in need of white guidance” (Ono and Pham 28).They believe that whiteness is superiority. This is language racist to try and prove that the non whites are foolish, and nothing good can come from them without the help of the whit man. The Asian Americans prove them wrong through creating their own independent film marketing Medias to show that they are not in need of white guidance in everything that they do. This independent Asian American media also attract many whites to show that they are also interested in what the Asian Americans are doing. It is evident that Asian Americans and Americans are great people in producing great films, preparing quality foods, demonstrating and many other forms and hence they should not be viewed as inferior people who always call for the white help for survival.
