VISUAL ARTS AND FILM STUDIES The indigenous voice performance was done at Washington University on 23rd September 2015.The event was to celebrate the world arts reflected on the cultue, tradition and history. There was representation of the visual art which had fine, decorative and performance art. Many artists were present and they presented different artistic forms.Supaman who is a native American dancer and hip hop artist undertook a performance and a decorative art. As a member of Apsaalooke nation dedicated his life to empower the youth and educate the listeners through culture and music.

His dressing showed his culture and history of the Apsaalloke nation. He encourages people on the importance of culture and how it brings value to the society. Through the music, he agitates for peace in the communities. His dance movements amalgamated the past and the present. The traditional and modern moves were shown to show the transformation of history. This ensured that the event accomplished the mission of showing transformation of history. On the board, was also an artist from Navajo nation.

His name was Nataani which means son of Ogla Lakota. He is an activist and he tells stories depicting the everyday hardships of 21st Centuary.Though,he is inspiring his performance art in songs is political oriented. His songs play politics because it attacks the current leadership on how they have managed. It has highlighted some various social injustices such inequality, corruption and unfair representation. He has also involved fiction and exaggeration in narration in the music. This is to emphasize the magnitude of how people have been forgotten in America.

There was also background from the real world and also imaginary which had unknown and alien logic of different temporal and special conditions to emphasize his political theme. The paintings reveal power of image, words, history and symbols to pass information. The images were used as communication tools in the native American history. There was also a common visual artist and rapper Witko who uses his music to shade some light on the common issues that affect his people. His artwork is politicized.

He uses fine and performance art in his effort to pass the information. He insists on good virtue in his music and respect for one another in the society. Witko has a tattoo to represent fine art, a symbol which communicates louder even than the song for the people to have peace. This is to suggest an index of cultural memory such that various cultures and destinies and mission of the regions are represented by the symbol. This is essential because the economic, political and social activities are able to be easily identified by both the literate and the illiterate as part of their culture.

Using the images is part of cultural and history remembrance. This is a major accomplishment. Yaz is a Native American artist and activist working to inform the public on issues and inspire youth was also present. He used performance art to show modernism in the art. There was no representation of tradition in his art. He purely revealed modernism and encouraged people o embrace technology. The event had weaknesses for there was no representation of artifacts from different nations present. The only thing that was seen is their history through dressing, songs and dancing moves which represented their culture and history.

There was need for the event to include artifacts from the museums to solidify the cultures.
