Understanding Movies The site has many opinions on different ways one should use while analyzing movies. The article below is on different ways of understanding a film after viewing the film. It is helpful to take other people’s opinion on the matter as it helps one to reflect on different ways to analyze a movie. One of the writers says he tries to balance his subjective reaction to an object analysis of the whole film. When it comes to a close call, the opinion about the movie should carry the day as opposed to the objective analysis (Mubi 1).

A person should have an interest in knowing whether the film succeeded in the accomplishment of its purpose. A movie can also accomplish something different from its primary aim by accident. If the movie is a horror movie, then it should be scary, and if it is a comedy, the film should be funny. A good film should have a moral of the story, and the purpose should clearly come out when someone finishes watching the movie. A person’s gut reaction to the film is also one of the ways to judge a movie.

If the film has many intellectuals and is challenging, the gut reaction should not cease to matter. It thus means that analyzing the film and contemplating are to make the experience enjoyable and enriching (Mubi 4). When one encounters a film director or an actor that they are unfamiliar with, they should analyze the movie in a subjective approach. One should “turn off” the critical faculties they have a concern about and get caught up in the storyline and other aspects of the film. Works CitedMubi, Beta.
