His choice of words and cussing indicates that Nicky is a street smart guy who did not go to college. The other character may be a partner who is equal in stature but the character of Nicky is just too assertive that he expects everybody to follow what he wants. Nicky is a certified crooked guy because he is doing everything he can to stop one of his men of getting a license or having a straightforward joint. Nicky may appear tough but he actually cares for about his men, partners and the people they love especially their families.

The mob, of which Nicky appears to be its leader, after all is known to be a close knit family where each protects its family member. He is admonishing that the other character is already being disrespectful to his wife which is unbecoming of him. This indicates that Nicky is the leader between the two characters. Nicky’s tough exterior and demeanor indicates that he had been through a lot of tough situation. Most likely, he grew up in the streets with the thugs and emerged as the toughest of them all.

He had to be tough to survived and prevail them all and most especially, to lead an illegal organization that involves casino. His practical reasoning also indicates that he did not go to college and is rather street smart rather than being book smart. He may have run off from his families or an orphan and had to grow in the streets and fend for himself. He also had to be tough because his built is not that big. It is not also a far fetch idea to think that Nicky can be violent when the situation calls for it or if it is necessary to get what he wants.

Nicky however is an extraordinary guy. The hardship that he has been may be evident in his tough exterior and reasoning but he has shown that he can overcome and prevail them all despite his small frame. With his demeanor also, it looks like Nicky will not hesitate to use violence and guns to get his way. It is evident
