Object exploration The door to my room is among the objects I interact with on a daily basis and do not pay attentionto. The wooden door is six feet high, three feet wide and four inches thick. It swings elegantly back and forth owing to the greased hinges that hold it in place. The door hangs on a wooden frame, which also completes the door by fixing it on the wall. Both the door and the frame are of the same wood quality and are connected by the hinges and the locking system. The locking system consists of a knob with a handle and a lock that secures it tightly in place. The knob has a handle on both sides of the door thereby enabling the door’s functionality. Both the door and the frame are of the same blue color, one that contrasts perfectly with the cream color of the room. The unique coloring of the door makes it conspicuous besides creating the notion of the space it creates on the wall. The color breaks the monotony of the wall thus enhancing the doors functionality. Additionally, the frame fixes it to the wall. Formal analysis As stated earlier, the door is of a light blue color. The color creates an ambiance of calmness besides breaking the monotony created by the cream walls. The color reflects light especially at night thus enhancing the brightness of the room. Additionally, the silver knob breaks the azure of both the door and the frame. The door is perfect rectangle with longer lengths and shorter width. It fits on the frame which thus the wall. The painting has a unique pattern of uniformity of both depth and intensity. This creates a fine texture characterized with smoothness to every direction. The painting has no definite pattern of brush movements a feature that creates a sense of uniformity in the texture of both sides of the door. The knob at the center of the door is silver in color a feature breaks the monotony of the azure of the rest of the door. This eliminates the sense of repetition in the texture of the door besides making the knob conspicuous. The blue surround the knob perfectly leaving the protruding silver color appearing as an island in an ocean of deep blue waters. The door falls in the crafts category of visual arts. The door is an artistic composition made of wood, nails and hinges among other features. Door making is a unique craft that requires precision in measuring the pieces of the door in order for the door to fit the frame. Additionally, the paint requires an artistic skill in order to enhance the functionality and appeal of the door. Tactics and strategies The door appears simple and is indeed simple to those who do not understand arts. The blue color for example is common among male a feature that does not make the door any different owing to the fact that it leads to a man’s room. However, besides the plain light blue color that others may consider common lies an artistic masterpiece that reacts different to various strategies of visual arts. This represents the lack of any other feature of the painting that would break the monotonous blue. The object and I Despite not noticing it, the door is a significant part of my life. I interact with the door at all the times. The features of the door complement both my life and personality. I love its blue color. The free flowing blue on both sides of the door create an ambiance of calmness typifying the key factor I always demand. I detest sticking newspaper clippings on the walls and have therefore maintained the blue color of the door maintaining its cleanliness and brightness. This way, the door enhances the space of the house and its intricate orderliness. I live with my parents. This implies that they cater for both my physiological and safety needs. However, I need love and self-esteem factors that influence my love for the color. As explained earlier, blue represents calmness and intelligence. I like presenting myself as both peaceful and intelligent. The door to my room communicates this naturally. Findings I experience the door as its maker intended. It does not only enable access to my room but also enhances my personality among other features I would wish to portray naturally. The door is of the best quality. The wood is of the best quality, it lacks any decoration a feature that enhances the peace created by the color. The painting is of even texture portraying the artistic genius of the painter. The existence of the door complements a room and the door to my room contributes to both the beauty and appeal of the room.
