The concept of science fiction in cinema 1. The most convincing ideas from the course reading are the seven conventions of the forking-path tales. The conventions stipulate that forking paths are clear, the fork is signposted, Forking paths intersect later, traditional cohesion devices unify the forking tales and forking paths will always run parallel. Additionally, all paths are never equal because the path completed last presupposes the other paths. The paths are also not equal given that the path completed last is the least hypothetical. The above rules of the game represent the salient features of cinematographic story telling. According to Cornea, the forking-path movies are based on the seven forking-path conventions (170). The assertion that forking paths are clear is symbolic and it indicates that life is a risk because man is faced with diverse and unprecedented events on a daily basis. Some of the occurrences could end man’s life inadvertently. This notwithstanding, the movie, The Matrix movie, shows that it is possible for an incident to be analyzed to an extent that its proximate cause and possible effect is established. 2.The least compelling idea from the course reading is that scholars ought to spend long hours exploring a single idea instead of balancing on the tie top allocate to many phenomena in life. The tradition is flawed and must not be adopted by any learner because it is counterproductive in entirety. The movie, Who blinked first, highlights the tradition of wasteful learning (Cornea 47). For instance, the film shows the significance of understanding much on eye behavior with regard to cinematography. There is a need for the characters to understand on the mode of eye contact to maintain the course of acting in a movie. The eye behavior of the actors enables the audience to understand the plot and the flow of the movie.in this regard, the tradition is relevant with regard to movie quality. 3. There is a close relationship between race and scientific fiction genre. The use of metaphor in the movie expresses virulent racism. However, the use of analogy to portray racism is implicit and can only be identified by critical evaluation. The radicalized individuals are considered disgusting aliens in scientific fiction movies like The alien (Cornea 140). However, the use of metaphor in the scientific fiction movies is also used to condemn the vice of racism in society. Additionally, racism is also used to incorporate marginalization in the scientific fiction movies. 4.Gender and scientific fiction genre have a close correlation given that the interaction between gender and genres presents reliable results in movie analysis. In this regard, the feminist scientific fiction writers have made strides in the creation of new genres of films. The newly created genres possess unique features like the utopian and dystopian elements (Cornea 76). The elements help in the restructuring of tradition. The close relationship between gender and scientific fiction reveals the need for gender identity in science fiction. Scientific-fiction genre also provides an ideal platform to expose the pertinent issues affecting gender and sexuality in society. 5.The aspect of scientific fiction, which was the most surprising is the paranormal activities evident in the Aliens (1979) movie (Cornea, 330). Paranormal activities are horrifying although they are expected in any scientific fiction movie. The inclusion of the activities in a movie makes the film horrifying to the audience. Additionally, the spatial setting of the movie enhances the horrific nature of the fictional movie. The time-setting of the movies portrays the movie in good light and makes it hilarious. The scientific fictional genre also utilizes many scientific principles, which contradict the natural laws. 6. Alien (1979) The movie best encapsulates the scientific fiction genre because it contains many illusory events. The movie is about the process of mystical activities in most of the instances of the movie plot. For instance, the movie unfolds and the audience notices that some of the actors are literary attacked by objects from the dark. Additionally, the movie plot setting is appropriate for a scientific fiction because it is done in a ship located in interstellar space. Although most of the movie appears to be illusory, there are tales that advanced scientists a deal with outer-space in some logical and rational manner (Cornea 87). This notwithstanding, the flow of events in the Alien movie is not logical but fictional. 7.Minority Report (2002) The movie proves to be problematic to the scientific fictional genre because it is a mixture of reality and fiction. The movie reflects the scientific fiction genre on part of its events, but this complicates the movie given that it deviates from scientific fiction. It is filled with mysteries of murder, freewill and determinism. The movie explores infinite possibilities like the free will in the future. Additionally, the movie highlights the role of preventive government in the future world. One of the illusory things in the movie is that the media is bound to be boundless. The protagonist, Spielberg, made constructive consultations with the scientists in order to present a rational future world than the fictional version presented by the other scientific fictional movies (Cornea 123). The movie has a unique visual presentation because of the dark contrast of its images. This reveals the use of de-saturated colors to stress the movie events. 8.The concept of scientific fiction is an exciting idea because of its capacity to mimic reality. The feature makes the strategy hilarious and entertaining to many people. The course readings have not changed the common position on the scientific fiction genre. The genre has boosted the sales of many movies especially the Alien and the Minority report movies. The genre features attract many fans of horror movies because of the sophisticated technology applied in the presentation of the movie. The extra-ordinary event also begs questions among the audience members. Consequently, the movie nurtures creativity and novelty. 9.SF is not an unrealistic and unsophisticated genre of films. This is because SF presenting reality in a different version cannot be acted on a vacuum. The plot of the movie mimics reality. In this regard, the assertion that SF is unreality is baseless and misleading. Additionally, SF is sophisticated because the technology, systems, electronic media and the skills applied in the genre are hi-tech and sophisticated (Cornea 99). The SF movies are expensive to act because they require huge amounts of capital. Therefore, SF remains to be the preferred genre of films in the film industry. 10.Science fiction cinema refers to a film genre, which employs scientific fiction and speculative depictions. The depictions features phenomenon, which does not comply with the rules of nature. The phenomenon includes alien worlds and extraterrestrial lives. Additionally, the cinemas feature time travels and other futuristic elements. The cinemas are applied in political and social scenarios.
