The Louvre, France, Museum also includes Ancient Egyptian art artifacts. The museum contains statues and other artifacts that represent the time of the Egyptian Pharaohs. 2. Terminology and Concepts. Form of the Artwork. The two art forms have different forms. The hieroglyphic drawing (Appendix C) is two dimensional while the tomb of Pharaoh Perneb is three dimensional. The Ancient Egyptian art form is two dimensional. The pictures of the ancient Egyptian period include simple lines to show the shape of a human being or an animal.

However, the Ancient Egyptian sculptures are three dimensional. An example of three dimensional art is the Sphinx statue (Springer, 2010). Additionally, the Appendix D picture shows the tomb of Perneb. It was constructed during 2381-2323 B.C. The tomb is made of stone and other cement-like materials. The tomb symbolizes there is an afterlife. Further, the materials used are plain paper. In the making of the pyramids and the Sphinx, stones were used in the making of the pyramids.

Coarse mud plaster was used to make the tomb’s animal sculpture. The tombs were whitewashed. Gums and resins were also used for the tombs (Schatz, 2009). Furthermore, the techniques used are different. The sculptor chiseled the tomb’s statues into its present form. The painters implemented the sunk relief style of sculpture. On the other hand, the painters the hieroglyphics painted either two sides of the scene. The two sides are the front view or the side view. The artist did not use any distinct color when they made the tomb statues.

The hieroglyphic drawings used bright colors. The bright colors included red, blue, green, and black colors. On the other hand, the artists used distinctively bright colors to draw the two hieroglyphic pictures above (Schatz, 2009). Likewise, the hieroglyphic drawing and the tomb sculpture have different aspects, in terms of using the line, shape, texture, value, color, and balance. The artists use the lines, shapes, texture, value, color, and balances to draw the two dimensional art pieces to add emphasis to the hieroglyphic drawings.

On the other hand, the sculptors used lines shapes, texture, value, color, and balances to depict the importance of the afterlife of the dead pharaoh (Robins, 2008). Subject Matter The two works have a subject matter. The hieroglyphic paintings symbolized the afterlife and the power of the pharaoh. Similarly, the tomb sculpture emphasized that the pharaoh will travel to the afterlife. The tomb reminds the dead pharaoh’s current generation and future generations that there is an afterlife.

Further, the work of art is representational. The hieroglyphic drawings represent the religious tradition of the pharaoh and his subjects. Similarly, the tomb sculpture represents the community’s acceptance that there is an afterlife. The dead king will travel to the afterlife. Furthermore, the two artwork types represent Egyptian Pharaoh life. The hieroglyphics represents the pharaoh during ancient Egypt’s ancient times. The tomb sculture contains the elegance of the dead pharaoh’s death.

The artist of the hieroglyphics states that women have beautiful costume. The tomb sculptor states the king is powerful. Also, the two art forms use symbolism. Both art forms symbolize the uniqueness elegance of Egyptian life during the time period. The context of the two artworks both focused on Egyptian lifestyle during the Egyptian pharaoh’s time. The function of the two artworks is persons they represent. The drawing represents female and the second represents the dead Pharaoh’s resting place.

The role of hieroglyphics author is to show the beauty of the female culture. The tomb sculpture artist’ shows the religious power of the king. Context of Time Period The two works fit into the ancient Egyptian time period. The time period represents the pharaoh’s godly leadership of the Egyptian populace (Springer, 2010). The tomb is where the Pharaoh Perneb was laid to rest. The hieroglyphics show how the female gender dressed during the same time period, within the 30,000 BCE to 500 CE time era.

The time period includes burying the pharaohs within the Pyramids. Summarizing the above discussion, Ancient Egyptian art enhanced the current rich culture. The Egyptian art focuses on the pharaoh’s leadership. The two art masterpieces vividly present the affluence the Pharaoh godship.
