The popular and enduring appeal of flowers in medieval art and literature extended beyond simple botanical illustration; instead, flowers helped to tell countless stories without words through potent symbolic imagery. (Fisher, C., 2008)Medieval art which mostly had pieces in religious themes associated Nature with the divine world. With flora and fauna in metal, stone and/or wood, medieval artists were able to create strong symbolic images which continue to speak their ideals even to people of the modern world.
