Tourism Essay ID Tourism Essay Introduction Among the many personal experiences that the has experienced, one keeps their mind fresh each time they think of it. This particular experience marked the first time mountain climbing was experienced and not knowing what it was all about, the writer edged on his experienced colleagues to hand the situation and ensures that he had all that he needed on this trip. The bag he had to carry, the kind of clothes to wear, the shoes that would handle such places and a walking stick that would ensure that there is a balance and the movement is continuous. Some snacks too were part of the things they carried and these were to keep them from returning early to the camp. The need to have someone with a good experience at this activity reflected in all of us and one can easily understand why while they continue on the journey to the peak of the mountain. The timing was right, the season was one that would encourage climbing and there was limited snow at the time making it very hot and requiring less thick clothes. World animals also less populated the mountain hence eliminating the fears of the wild. The courage of the group members made a whole lot of effort in encouraging the rest of the group and this made the experience both worthwhile and exhilarating though somehow scary. Challenges and perseverance of putting ones hands on the rocks and ensuring their feet grip well on the rocks makes mountain climbing a wonderful experience (Green, n.d). Anticipation Mountain climbing as an experience made a lot of adventure sense to the writer with less of its experience to boost of; the particular experience was worth trying. The anticipation that grew each day waiting the particular weekend when we were to try out this adventurous activity was filled with anticipation of what to expect and how the day will end. The fear of heights made it more thrilling. As one of the first experiences of heights, the writer had to ensure that they were ready for it before embarking on it. Each day that went by had more and more anticipation grow. Talks of those that had experience and the desires of those without made up the source of anticipation. The desire to beat ones fears and reach places they only though would remain admired but never reached motivated the writer to think of what to expect from the adventure. Many stories surround mountain climbing as an adventure both good and bad stories. These only served to sharpen the desire of the writer to experience this side of life. The anticipation grows more and more each day and only gets to deteriorate when the experience is achieved. The need of a tour guide was not seen to cross our minds. Since this was an experience crafted by the youthful desire to explore, the desire to prove what lies within the mind and heart peddled the whole plan. As a group of six, we felt we were in position to handle this on our own and the anticipation was for us to have ample time at the top of the mountain considering the fact that we were each coupled made it even more of like a date rather than a mountain climbing experience. On the D-day, the anticipation grew even stronger with limited sleep trying to imagine the experience and its effect to each party involved. Travel to Site On this particular day, we gathered at a point that was beneath the mountain, each coupled and ready to start the exploration. Travelling from home was each couples own organization and we made sure that my date and me were the first to reach the site. The anticipation that propelled each day and night to this day made one want to jump to the end of it to see how it would end. Travelling from home was fun, we boarded a taxi that drove us to the foot of the mountain and waited the other groups to come. As we waited, we continued taking a good look at the peak and identified some places we would want to reach as part of the experience. Throughout the journey there, we talked about how we wanted the day to end and start. We talked about our expectations and the expectations of the other groups. We considered the fact that we were both doing this for the first time and only the other groups had the experience over the idea. The talks led us through the travel and once there we only had to wait for our colleagues who had the experience with the idea. On-Site Activity While on site, we went through what we had carried to ensure that we did not miss anything. As the others arrived, the anticipation grew further making us want to take the moment right away. We started the climbing after the last group arrived and we had rested for a while to gather enough energy for the adventure. Starting at the foot of it made it look a very simple experience. We climbed the mountain a piece at a time until we reached the peak where we stayed for a longer time trying to admire the beautiful view that it provided to us. The admiration of the view and the whole scenery makes the experience thrilling. We watched the world from the mountaintop we scaled it all and ensured we had all places around it combed fro experience. We tried the caves and different heights that presented themselves before us. Having this fear to try and get around and on top of the heights made me reserved on the whole trip but then the thrill of it brought out the desire inside. The fact that each person was motivating and encouraging made the comfort automatically grow within and these drove through the day. Return Travel We spent more than four hours on top of the mountain had to camp for sometime in tents. We also captured each moment on camera and video recording. That way we were able to capture the moment and keep it close to us. We also took turns to take the photos to ensure that each person had a piece of the memory. We covered all the peaks we reached and ensured that each of them was covered in the photos. On the return part, we found it interesting. We scaled down on different side to the one we used going up. We found each cave on our way down. We entered them and some carried the water they found collected within for memory and as show of their experience. It took us time to reach the foot but once there, we looked back up and viewed where we had spent the day. The day culminated at a restaurant where we spent some more time together before heading home later on that evening. Recollection Recollection of the day’s activities marks the days that follow getting home. The opportunity to go through the pictures and mark each moment’s grip mark the rest of the day and give the author a reflection of the all event. The recollection also includes talking to friends about the tour and the mark it made on the day. The idea of going up that mountain made the whole experience thrilling. The idea and the experience were definitive of the expectations that I held within. The experience was grate and one that I would consider if another opportunity presented itself.
