Enriqueta Escoto Rashmi Roy Composition and Language ENG 1010 June 6, Persuasive Essay on 3D Animation 3D Animation should be the future of animation. The advancements in technology led to the development of animations that refer to the simulation of movement emanating from an arrangement of frames or images. Ideally, 3D animation relates to animating objects that appear in a three-dimensional space where we can rotate and move such objects like real objects. Notably, drawings, models, or inanimate objects are subject to 3D animation (Rebelo 1). The 3D animations act as an impressive and long lasting manner of bringing to life an idea that is difficult to visualize or a design on the drawing board (Rebelo 1). We can use various software applications to create animations that we can display on a computer monitor (Rebelo 1). The use of "key frames" is one of the fundamental aspects of 3D animation since they allow for the definition of the main "states" in a definite movement or action (Rebelo 1). Before the introduction of 3D animation, there was 2D animation that basically involves a series of drawings that are viewed in motion to create the illusion of movement. Companies that specialize in medical illustrations offer medical animations, which involve a series of their drawings put together. This shows that there has been technological advancement from 2D animation to 3D animation. However, 3D animation has some disadvantages that need to be improved. 3D animations, like any other computer, generated animations, do not stand up well to full lighting (Buffy 1). This, therefore calls for CGI characters to be shown in almost dark conditions or twilight, which affects the whole process of scripting. This is because, the script developers have to bear this in mind as they develop the script and leave allowance for it. Animators in 3D models usually apply texture maps so as to provide color that is seen. These textures varies in size depending on how detailed an object needs to be. Moving objects on 3D animations have files that are quite large and require much power to render. Therefore, 3D animation consumes much electric power, which makes it a bit expensive to execute. 3D animation requires much coordination and the director and producers spend a lot of time working on the coordination thus, they may have less time to develop the story (Buffy 1). However, despite the above cited shortcomings of the 3D animation, it remains the future of animation. This paper aims to discuss the reasons why 3D is the future of animations and every company need to invest in 3D. There is a need to render each "state" of the 3D scene to create a 3D animation which develops an illusion of animation (Rebelo 1). Indeed, the interpolating between the numerical values produces two consecutive frames in 3D animation. A 3D animation allows for a change of position, rotation, shape, and surface form with time that defines an animated 3D scene (Rebelo 1). Recently, computer animation has been using computer graphics in a computer and animation software to generate animated images like cartoons. 3D animation is an advancement of the 2D animation, which now includes static scenes and dynamic images. Although 2D computer graphics is still in operation for low bandwidth, style, and faster real-time deliveries, 3D computer graphics are now dominating the current computer animation industry. Indeed, the modern professional animators are using 3D computer graphics to generate detailed photorealistic animation for films, computer games, and TV programs (Orient Info solutions 1). Subject to the convenience and significance of 3D animation, current and future generations will appreciate 3D animation as the next wave in technology, and do more research to improve it and make it even better as well as overcome the various shortcomings that are related to 3D animation. The young generation is particularly gaining much attraction to animation films and, therefore, this makes more research to improve 3D animations more necessary and valid. Ideally, many benefits relate to 3D animation. In the recent times, 3D animation has become very popular in terms of its benefits and applications. As such, I believe that 3D animation is poised to be the future of animation as the market is evincing much demand for three dimensional animation movies, promotional stuff, and videos. Indeed, 3D animation is the wave of the future subject to its sophistication. 3D animation creates more realistic products than 2D animation does and develops characters of greater depth and credibility. Most interestingly, 3D animation products are more beautiful than 2D animation products. As such, the future generation seeking attractive animations with greater depth, reality, and credibility will go for 3D animation. Subject to these factors, 3D animation is the foundation of games and virtual reality and enhances the presentation of graphics to add flair to the visuals (Rabelo 1). Moreover, other benefits of 3D animation relate to its ability to graphically simplify complicated concepts and huge amounts of scientific data and convey complex inter-relationships that are trying to visualize under 2D animation or other technologies (Orient Info solutions 1). Through 3D animation, we can attract the attention of the audience and accurately present given data as a moving image thereby creating a long-term effect. Additionally, 3D animation allows for use of textures and lighting, shading to produce realistic objects that are solid and in camera motion (Finkelstein 1). Subject to these capacities and the potential technological advancements, many people will find 3D animation as a solution to many problems. Indeed, many fields are using 3D animations for different purposes. The entertainment industry is now reliant on 3D animation for the production of realistic and attractive animations with greater depth, accuracy, truth, and credibility that derives a long lasting effect to the audience (Orient Info solutions 1). This is evidenced by the number of customer in 3D animation cinemas. I can bet that the demand for 3D animated products will rise in the future. We can even relate 3D animation to the medical and health sector where medical professionals use 3D animation to develop practical three-dimensional medical models that aid medication (Salsabeel et al. 187-190). In fact, even medical professors use computer-generated models to teach medical students subject to its numerous benefits that create a striking and lasting impact on the students. 3D animation helps in opening a wider scale and variety of the human anatomy and its functions by exploring the depths and intricacies of human science not visualized by 2D animation (Salsabeel et al. 189-194). For instance, the ghost production studio that produces medical graphics, animations and e- learning content that is medically accurate and very inspiring. This boosts the quality of medical training. In the transport industry, we can use 3D animation to re-create an aircraft accident or demolished infrastructure (Orient Info solutions 1). Under normal circumstances, it is usually dangerous, complicated, and expensive to re-construct such events since traditional forms of media do not have that capacity (Orient Info solutions 1). We can also use 3D animations in transportation planning and traffic engineering. This will highly boost the efficiency of the transport industry. 3D animation is also applicable in marketing where it accommodates 3D advertising technology. For instance, in marketing surgical products, the ghost productions produce and deliver high quality products with high competitive ability. Using 3D animations in the medical field makes Ghost productions simply unbeatable. 3D animation helps the Ghost productions to give medical illustrations and make medical estimates that help medics start their medical projects. It is thus apparent that 3D animation covers almost every field and has much impact in all the fields. Its dominance in the future is very eminent. Works Cited Finkelstein, Adam.
