of Submitted Video Phone Introduction With the advent of video technology, so much advancement have been made that telephones have been invented to be able to transfer images like still pictures or videos between people in real time. Often the telephone is made to have a screen to display the images apart from the audio signals the phone usually transmits. This type of technology is finding use in several areas of the societal organization including medical industry (telemedical) and education (tele- education) among others. Proposal Video phone has improved the communication industry taking it to the next level. This means that on can be able to see the person you are communicating with in real time. Such developments have been channeled into corporate industry for real benefits in communicating like video conferencing for instance (Reedy 2009). Company members, students or any other group of people and interact via video and audio on the media. Benefits of this include time saving, cost efficient, and allows that face to face exercise without necessarily traveling long distances to meet physically (JCN 2006). Characteristics The rate at which video enabled phones are being used increasing at a very high rate all over the worlds; The TV service have begun dropping at a considerable rate. Despite the advantage that video phone come with, they have not been used increasingly due to other barriers like the poor economic conditions where many people cannot afford the gadgets; the sub par 3G network coverage and higher costs of the machines makes inaccessible (Reedy 2009). The widest use of the video telephony is currently beings observed in mobile –phones that ever. The technology has grown so much that now all the information that support the UMTS can be used as video-phones by utilizing that internal camera ands in that way, they can make wireless video calls to other similar users domestically or internationally (Lineback 1996). It’s been observed that there have been 131 million users of this type of technology in about 59 nations all over the world and in 134 networks. The video telephony has also widened in scope of use in that it’s also employed in medicine (telemedicine) where it has been used for diagnosis, medical consultation and prescription for medication to patients especially the elders. Video phone technology also finds use in conferencing, that is, corporate teleconferencing and video conferencing (JCN 2006). The principles of video phone technology have been extended to the internet and webcam have been developed out of the same to be used on the internet with personal computers. Video calls, can now be made on the internet for even free (Bob 1991). The conventional video phone usage is increasing though the cost can lead to a shift. Considering that there are free web phones that can be accessed, it’s unlikely that strict videophones will be popular (Dunn 2003). Apart from this type of competition, there are zapping phone signals over reinforced cable line for televisions. Mobile phone companies are edging out the cable telephone line companies slowly. Many of cable firms are shifting to offer wireless services, EIU ViewsWire (2000). Some companies are even trying to make intent transfers and telephone signal transmission via the electricity cables. Dissatisfaction of the Video Phones The video technology offer quite new advancement in the technology industry and as such its use is steadily increasing though faces some laxity. This is because the technology also has some dissatisfaction to the clients (Schelmetic 2000). The technology is very expensive yet similar service can be obtained from the diversified webcam calls that are almost free of charge. This has caused many potential clients to shun the use of cable video phones or even mobile video phones that are billed every month. Other service providers for the mobiles like Third Generation Technology (3 G) are only compatible with other 3G subscribers (Dunn 2003). The video phones are very much dependent on the network service providers especially the wireless phones. This means that when the service providers suffer a hitch, then the video phones can no longer be used. Even those that use internet services can also be failed by slow intent connections or failed internet connection which means no working would be achieved (Goetz 2007). The quality of the voice or of the images is sometimes poor depending on service provider like the 3G or broadband among others. There has been increased service theft and identity theft as well. The use of video phones is hence complex. Ability and Willingness of Target clients to Pay Paying for services especially media content has been very challenging. This is because obtaining the gadgets is the first step of accepting responsibility and embracing technology. However it’s also important to note thaty6 the technologies work in concert meaning that some may not work in the absence of others like a phone may not operate with service providers. Many clients would readily obtain video enabled phones for convenience though the prices are very high (Goetz 2007). This is so because the target customers are the young generation who are very enthusiastic with technology. However since the service providers for telephony are expensive, the internet has becomes an alternative since its very cheap and even mere convenient. It offers similar services where communications can be achieved online and in real time. With this regard very few clients were willing to pay for the expensive services when they could use free and other cheaper alternatives (Goetz 2007). The information society though facing economic difficulties, technology has been very dynamic and its change has been very critical. Technology is complex as there are a wider range of applications than ever imagined. The young generation showed readiness in the willingness to obtain the digital phone services in the endeavor to meet the personal goals. This is a very strong aspect to consider. The urge to satisfy personal ultimate objectives can surpass the fear of economical strain (Guth 2000). The technical and challenges at the market place are likely to be overcome and that the video phone industry will be set to expand. Societal and Environmental Changes Affecting Video Phone There are several issues of concern especially the social and environment issues that regard the use of phones, video and the internet. The use of video phone is very rampant with many people using it to access their best music clips and watching short parts of movies. The young generation is the ones who usually abuse phones a lot and this is prone to abuse (Jim 2000). One of the critical one is the telephone sex. There is a serious social, concern. With video phoning enabled gadgets, it’s now clear that the society of the younger generation could, get alienated with such types of behavior which have been noted to be on the increase. Using the phones while driving is also a serious society concern since this has become a health hazards as a considerable number of people get involved ion fatal accidents because on such carelessness. Phones can be used for class discussion when the student can connect with teachers or fellow students (Whitney 2007). The environmental concern in clued the human health and things like radiations chemical in the batteries of phones and other disease causing agents. Disposing cell phones when they are used up is not detailed by many organizations hence can lead to dangers in environment called health environmental hazards. The contents of the gadgets can be leaked to the environment (Jim 2000). For this reason most phone and phone accessory firm implement buy-back policy so that they have the change to destroy such used up phones. Issues of technological feasibility The future of video phoning is very bright and looking wide. The technology has been able to be diversified into also of use. Telemedication for instance is very critical. It’s likely that if it’s implemented effectively, then medicine in future would be efficient (Farber 2008). Telemedication will be very useful in societies that are in isolation ands in very remote areas. Specialties will also be also to deliver personalized services when called upon. With the advancing technology, its being noted that phones in the near future will be able to execute graphic intensive applications (Farber 2008). Governments are working tirelessly against the economic crisis are it is expected that affordability of the gadgets will be made possible for majority of the people. Video phone technology is growingly advancing towards perfection (Whitney 2007). Technologies like the third Generation, the 3 G, is shaping the way media and other industries in the related field run operations. Media and video content and mobile units are gaining a worldwide acceptance and usage. Cellular phones have been designed to be able to support television broadcast television and downloading information is very efficient. Video telephony has been one of the most positive developments for graphics and wireless infrastructure at this point in time (Chldress 2007). Conclusion Technology is very difficult o market since its dynamic and may run obsolete in a very short time. The market for technology continues to increase particularly in sophistication and ability. Future advances are targeted to provide cost effective phoning services, cheaper gadgets, highly integrated services. Wireless infrastructure are very and highly sophisticated that in the near future will show very different kind of operation that will see a lot integrating with people and communities that received less attention, References Bob, J (1991).
