Multi-meter leads were connected to DC voltage supplier as shown in Figure No 2. Fixed 5V supply was set with the red wire. 2. Dial of digital multi meter was selected to DC volts. 3. Black lead was plugged in the COM and red lead was plugged in V socket of multi-meter as shown in Figure No 3. 4. The pointer of LVDT board was moved in 5mm intervals as shown in Figure No 4. The pointer position was changed from 0 – 50 mm in 5 mm interval. 5. The voltage on voltmeter was measured. 6. The procedure was repeated to get 2 sets of readings. The experimental data is placed in Table No 1. 7. Plot a graph for voltage verses displacement.Apparatus LVDT boardA digital voltmeter DC voltage supplier Setting up the experiment The first process in the experiment involves connecting the supply cables to the 5V sockets. In a situation where variable connections are used, there should be no exceeding 6V voltage supply. The next step involves connecting the output leads to the digital millimeter. With the connection, the LVDT voltage pointer is set as zero and then the pointer is moved at an interval of 5mm and the voltage output is recorded. The procedure is repeated two more times to obtain other readings. Plot a graph of voltage against distance.Comment on the results that are obtained from the graph plotted. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

War and displacement
...more. The war was a cover for genocide, systematic destruction of cities and populations, crippling of a very strong economy, development and use of nuclear weapons and above all the trauma that every civilian and soldier had to go through in the post war life. One might think that all the past experience would have caused people to think rationally and avoid wars in the future but that has not been the case and war is prevalent even today, be it the Iran Iraq war or the earlier Russian Cold War. While claiming for justice, often the war farers overlook the centric point of war- consequentalism. (Wittner, 2003). War has never been a good path to demand justice and in the long run has brought only death and destruction....

Using Assessment and Feedback
...? Using Assessment and Feedback Using Assessment and Feedback This paper addresses the aspect of assessment and feedback strategies for differentiated instruction in a gifted classroom. The paper will adopt the position of a teacher in a gifted classroom with students who exhibit multiple intelligences. The paper will then select and discuss a pre-assessment and post-assessment that would differentiate instruction to the students' multiple intelligences. I this context, the paper will explain how I would use feedback from these assessments to reflect upon and modify instruction within the gifted class. Ultimately, the paper will make a recommendation on how differentiated instruction...

Marijuana has been prioritized as the first issue because it is an illegal substance according to the law and that its use is affecting the relationship between her and the parents. Continued use of marijuana is harmful to her health. I also prioritized marijuana smoking because her parents are against it compared to alcohol which her parents introduced to her....

Introduction Child abuse is common today and occurs in different forms; physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional abuse are the most common. According to Newton and Gerrits (2010 p6), abuse is not always visible, as it hurts both on the inside and outside; a child can either be abused by their parents, teacher or adult friend, whom a child is supposed to trust. Physical abuse may involve visible scars, whilst emotional abuse can be related to child neglect. Child sexual abuse involves molestation...

Topics that require connections include calculus, algebra, and geometry. Markus Hohenwater, having realised the necessity of incorporating related mathematics concepts, developed the GeoGebra Software as dynamic mathematics software that can be used to achieve the connection (Akkaya, Tatar & Kagizmanli, 2011). Regardless of challenges facing its users, I can use the GeoGebra Software in several ways to enhance my classroom instruction. First, when dealing with problems involving quadrilaterals, I will create an...

Measurement and Instrumentation LVDT sheet
...Linear Voltage Differential Transformer (LVDT)  Introduction The linear variable differential transformer is one of the most widely used transducers for measuring linear displacement. It offers many advantages over potentio-metric linear transducers such as frictionless measurement, infinite mechanical life, excellent resolution and good repeatability (Herceg, 1972). Its main disadvantages are its dynamic response and the effects of the exciting frequency (Kim et al., 2010). General guidelines regarding the selection of an LVDT for a certain application can be found in (Herceg, 2006). LVDT Construction The basic construction of an LVDT is explained and shown in the figure below. The device consists of a primary winding (P) and two... ...
