Networks are basically a collection of computers linked by cable or other media as a result they can contribute to information and resources with each other (Nash, 2000). This research presents the analysis of the network architectures and operating system implications within Well People NHS Trust. This research presents a detailed analysis of the implementation of the network technology for the establishment of the communication and data transfer facility among distant WP hospitals and division of the Well People NHS Trust (WP). Introduction The implementation of new technology in this era has completely transformed the way of communication and information handling. At the present time, we have better ways of business handling and management. This research is about the incorporation of the network, state-of-the-art communication and communication technology into the health and public welfare sector. This report will streamline the implementation of the databases, communication, network and computer based management technology for the Well People NHS Trust. Background This project is initiated by the Well People NHS Trust (WP) that runs the business of the supplying of healthcare to a large population who live in a geographical area of some 60 square miles. The Well People NHS Trust is basically the main provider of the health care facilities in the area. The Well People NHS Trust has responsibility of two hospitals and twelve doctors’ surgeries. Each surgery is staffed by several GP’s together with other healthcare specialists. Well People NHS Trust has initiated this project for the establishment of the better facilities of the healthcare and treatment of people in the area. This project is aimed at providing a collaborative working environment to the public health. This will also help for the implementation of the centralized database system that can handle the patient’s record and data in a better way. Proposed System We are going to implement a digital collaboration system for the Well People NHS Trust. This system will enable the cauterization of the overall corporate working and management. I have analyzed the different networking options and selected the MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) Wireless Network. This network will be connected to the network and runs the database, website and communication system of the Well People NHS Trust. Project Scope I have analyzed the overall project descriptions and established the following given scope for the project: 1. The development of the system for accessing and update patients’ records 2. The sharing of data and information among hospital, doctors, and surgeons 3. The accomplishment of the digital communication technology 4. Availability of the digital communication and collaboration for on-the-spot patient consultancy and issues satisfaction 5. Effective management of patients and health care data 6. Development of the online communication platform (Well People NHS website) 7. Online availability of the patient’s records Network System Well People NHS Trust needs a system for the effective and distant communication and data transfer. Here we need a system for the better data and communication handling of the organization. Here we have geographical area of 60 square miles. This area is extensively hilly and rural, contains three towns and a city. In this area we can not establish a physical (Wired) network. In this large area we can not implement such a huge system for the communication. The wireless technology is the ultimate solution for the network and communication. Network Technology I have analyzed the on the whole network technology options and network development areas. Here I have analyzed that all the network technologies and found that MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) technology is the best for the Well People NHS Trust working structure. Here we have LAN network that is really small for such a huge area. This network is better for small confined area but we have area of 60 square miles. In this area the Metropolitan Area Network is the best solution. Figure 1 Metropolitan area network, Image Source: (Tamimi, 2006) Metropolitan area network A metropolitan area network (MAN), is a collection of LANs situated in a city. For instance, if a university had campuses with networks at each spread over the greater part of a city, they could be joined to produce a MAN (Nash, 2000). MAN network are enormous computer network organization generally spanning to a huge area or city. They usually make use of the optical fiber or wireless communications or link website and network servers to link the website. A Metropolitan area network is personalized for a bigger physical area than a local area network, changeable from numerous blocks of arrangements to intact massive regions. MAN also relies on communications controls of realistic to elevated data rates. A Metropolitan area networks might be possessed as well as function through a single association/ organization, on the other hand it typically will be utilized through a lot of persons as well as organizations. Metropolitan area networks might as well be possessed plus functional as public utilities (Tamimi, 2006). MAN network can be spread over 40-50 km, devices utilized are modem and cable/ wire (Collaborative-Network, 2009). In the past, wireless networks structures were enormously expensive, sometimes entirely mismatched as well as were barely a malfunction on the community radar screen. By means of the assistance of the 802.11 networking technology standard as well as a business seal of support, high priced proprietary mechanism turned out interested in the low-cost structure of network Wi-Fi networks offices and in millions of homes (Sutherland, 2009). MAN Wireless Technology (WiMAX) For the Wireless network communication I have discovered that wireless WiMAX technology is most excellent. Here in the below paragraphs I have given a brief overview of the WiMAX wireless technology. Wireless network that transmits data by means of air or space devoid of any physical link has appeared as a significant substitute to tethered transmission channels for instance twisted wire, coaxial cable, and fiber optics (Laudon & Laudon, 1999) WiMAX is a probable substitute opponent for wireless and cellular phone technologies like that CDMA and GSM, or can be utilized like a put on top to augment capability. It has as well been determined as a wireless communication backhaul technology intended for 4G, 2G, and 3G networks collectively established furthermore poor nations (Kaiser, 2008). WiMAX is a wireless communication broadband raised area as well as such has a great deal of additional considerable backhaul bandwidth necessities than old legacy mobile system or applications. As a result customary copper wire backhaul resolutions are not apposite (Kaiser, 2008). Managing WiMAX in country areas by means of deficient or no web based backbone will be demanding for the reason that extra techniques as well as hardware will be necessary to attain an adequate amount of bandwidth from the adjoining foundations, the complication being in percentage to the remoteness among the end-user as well as the adjacent enough internet backbone (Kaiser, 2008). In pervious few years organizations have thrown around a number of technologies as the response for these challenges on the other hand not any have in use root. A large number of organizations shaped a non-profit association in the year 2001, which is WiMAX Forum, to maintain extension as well as information of up-to-date probable details: the practice of IEEE 802.16 acknowledged standard, also known as WiMAX. These organizations were persuaded that 802.16 apprehended the solution to allocation urban as well as rural clientele in rigid situations by means of high-speed remote wireless network service (Farwell, 2008). System requirements specification This section outlines the main system requirements. These requirements can be both functional and non functional. I will try to specify these requirements in a better way, because the overall system development depends on this phase of the project. Hardware requirements: Pentium 4 computers systems for workers located at offices Pentium 4 lap tops for the Doctors for remote working and patient data transfer Network Equipment Data Servers Network Switches LAN structure WiMAX technology tools Software requirements: Windows XP for system for workers and doctors Windows Server 2008 for network servers Oracle database for storage of patient, treatment, resources, doctors, and hospitals data PHP for website programming CASE tools for system design Antivirus software Network firewall Performance Parameters This section elaborates how the system needs to work and respond to any user request at Well People NHS Trust. The following given performance parameters or functional requirements for this client server and network architecture of the Well People NHS Trust: Simple interface: The system should have an uncomplicated interface the can be easily accessed. The interface should not contain any complicated features and data that can make the user feel distracting. This will also need to think about about the color schema of the Well People NHS Trust information management system. We have to choose colors those are simple and provide a feel of lightness. The font is also a main consideration of this interface. We have to choose the font that is easy in reading and working. The order processing and shipment should be easy to manage on Well People NHS Trust network structure. Well People NHS Trust network structure for the client server solution we have to discuses the network security considerations. Here we require implementing the security systems and network firewall. Adoptability: The new network technology system for Well People NHS Trust should be adoptable both inside and out side the Well People NHS Trust, for the reason that previously this organization is working on a different architecture. This transformation to a new system should be easy to manage and handle. Usability: The system should be usable in the scenario of its working and ease of data handling. This new system need to provide its user a more relaxing and satisfaction feeling for the information management. Efficiency: The system should be efficient in its working and data transfer and project handling tasks. Security: Here we are required to establish a better system working through effective network data transfer and security. Limitations In this section I will point out few limitations regarding the implementation of this project. These limitations can be time, cost, technology, or services related. First of all we have main limitation regarding the on time completion of this project. This project is basically an overall enhancement of the organizational order processing network. There is lot of time needed for the effective and on time completion of this project. Next we have limitation regarding the cost of this project. Cost overrun is a common problem is approximately all projects. This project is huge project and the cost overrun is also expected here. We need to establish a better working cost policy to manage and handle the cost of this project. This will ensure the completion of this project on time and within resources. The technical limitation is also expected here. The availability of some technical expertise’s are expected before the project starts but there are few exceptions in this regard. Like that at any point in the project developer would not be able to handle any problem at that stage we need some technical consultation. The availability of such consultation is necessary but it depends on the problem. If problem is complex then we have to suffer regarding the overall project handling. Network Structure In this section I have presented the detailed network diagram of the Well People NHS Trust new technology implementation. Figure 2 WP Network Structure Conclusion Every business regardless of what is the nature of business, how small; makes use of the computers to administer bookkeeping, track inventory, and store documents. When the size of business or number of computers increases the networking computers turns out to be beneficial. In this report I have presented a detailed analysis of the network architectures and operating system implications within Well People NHS Trust. Here I have tried to streamline main working structure and network communication technology of the network. This report also presented the main working requirements of the Well People NHS Trust network. I hope this will provide a deep insight into the overall network structure.
