It is imperative that you understand what a development plan is before you can answer the question. It’s more of a description of the elements that make up a personal roadmap. An individual development plan is more or less like a roadmap to attaining personal objectives in life. It lays out the strategies for achieving these goals. In the process of formulating this development strategy, one will have an action plan founded on values, consciousness, reflection, target-setting, and beliefs. All these need to be in line with your schooling, career, relationship, and desire for self-improvement. Writing down a development plan can be compared to bringing the future into the present day for one to act appropriately before he gets into that future.
The personal development plan also is known as individual development plan should organize the pathway to your desired personal achievement. A personal achievement can include perspectives such as career, finances, social life, physical, or education. First, the plan will need to show what specifically what one intends to accomplish and by when (time). Secondly, the plan must specify why the individual wants to achieve that particular objective. Third, outline who or what can help you reach there. Write down the personalities and assets that are needed to get you there. Fourth, what actions are required to take you to the objective, for instance, you may need to enroll in a gym for you to lose that extra weight (objective). Lastly, have a clear way of evaluating the whole process and more so whether you have achieved your goal.
