Module Part A (10 marks) Reducing sitting time in office workers: short-term efficacy of a multicomponent intervention Unique aspectsNurses’ preparedness to care for women exposed to Intimate Partner Violence: a quantitative study in primary health care Unique aspects Aspects in common Question &/or Design This research is carried out to appraise short term efficacy of intervention at three levels (individual, environmental and organizational) for reduction of sitting time at workplace. The research also examined differences of outcomes between intervention levels. Furthermore, the differences of sitting time, standing time and moving time are inquired with respect to their cardio metabolic, anthropometric and work related outcomes. The study design for these research questions was two arm no randomized controlled trial collected between July to September 2011 and evaluated between May to August 2012 while the design was sanctioned by Alfred Health Human Ethics Committee (Melbourne, Australia) This research is targeted towards the preparedness of nurses attending primary health care to recognize & deliver nursing care to women exposed to Intimate Partner Violence. IPV has some severe impacts on women so that nurses’ preparedness can detect victims and implant intervention for recovery of women’s mental & physical health. Research design was based upon questionnaire measuring nurses’ preparedness was designed based upon the literature review. The questionnaire was approved by Statistics professional in Sweden. Pilot testing was also conducted for reliability of all questions in questionnaire.  None Sampling  Sample for research was Camcare which is a government agency ensuring workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation in Australia.  Nurses from 40 Primary Health Care Centers were randomly selected from 174 PHCC in Stockholm County from rural & urban areas.  None Recruitment Camcare organization staff of over 130 employees grouped into two were recruited after management approval, some environmental changes were also made for study process to take place. Furthermore employees were also invited through email. Eligibility was set from age 18 to 65 with desk job of 6 hours with no disorder nor any pregnancy.  All PHCC selected were contacted by phone and were invited to participate in the study. All except one PHCC accepted to participate and were recruited as a contact person.  Participants were informed about the study and were invited to participate with their consent. Data collection Intervention was introduced at three levels and controlled group was advised to maintain usual office routine. Data was collected through activPAL3 activity monitor for seven days whilst PAL Technologies Limited, Glasgow, UK maintained self-administered questionnaire along with the record of morning anthropometric and fasting blood measurements. With nurses’ consent and along with written and verbal orientation, questionnaires were distributed. Nurses were asked to disperse questionnaires among their colleagues with information letter. They were asked to send questionnaires back to research center.
