European fantasy sport analysis With entertainment being one of the needs humans crave, new methods have been devised to ensure that satisfaction is guaranteed throughout. One of the ways through which this is achieved is the introduction and development of various sporting activities. Recently, fantasy sport has become a phenomenon with people resorting to it as a way of entertainment. So popular is the sport that almost every continent has adopted it lately. In countries like the US, it is estimated that close to 32 million of the Americans normally spend close to $470 individually playing fantasy sport totaling to $15billion annually (Goff, 2013). Similarly, in Europe, the sport has penetrated as well with statistics showing that 10% of the UK residents play fantasy sport (Ryan and Sara, 2014). In this paper, the analysis of this sport in the European continent has been conducted. Fantasy league industry in Europe As already noted above, the fantasy league in Europe is embraced as much as it is in other areas including Asia and Sub-Saharan African. In Europe the sports has thrived mainly due to satellite’s move to broadcast the English Premier league and other major sports. It is estimated that the current value for the fantasy industry in Europe is $5billion, and has over 25million players across Europe (Collins, 2013). With the European countries showing signs of working together in the areas of trade, the sport could thrive even further. With the saturated point of great Britain, the market of fantasy league is gradually growing to build the brands to the outside emerging markets. The fantasy league is largely growing in three major countries in Europe. Germany, France and Italy prove to be best market place for the sports fantasy more especially in football. It has over one million subscribers that generates over 50, 000 per day making it to grow up gradually. French market Analysis Much of the information in the UK is replicated in the French market with data showing over 2 million players participating in this game. Like the UK, competition is rife but is not overwhelmed by the large number of people who play the game. Unlike the UK, the French market focuses only on football and most of the subscribers are football fans. For ASM, most of the fans are from AS Monaco International Team. FTBL (FTBL.com) is another international organization that hosts fantasy football. The organization has partnered with Agey Tomesh Designs company which helps them in the design of the site. The organization generates over $500, 000 monthly where most of the players active are from the french side. It is quite interesting that the traffic is increasing day in day out.
