Having discussed the factors of time management to be analyzed, one would be able to appreciate why only selected events in the two events can be analyzed based on time management. Such factors, not so many though, are factors directly attributable to the Olympic planning and organizing committee. Even so, it is vital to point out that professional opinion of the director of Beijing’s Olympic opening ceremony was that it would be wrong to compare the two Olympics. However, for purposes of academic interests, a comparison is so vital in the sense that it offers an opportunity for improvement in case something went wrong.

Perhaps it is also vital to point out to the director of 2008 Beijing Olympics that such comparisons are vital so that changing expectations of the masses may be taken into consideration (Ridley 1).A direct comparison between the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 reveal some of the following differences, especially with time management. The most notable factor that affected time management was traffic. During the 2012 London Olympics games, the city authority had gone into discussions to propose measures that were to see the whole event run smoothly.

The planning committee had anticipated that there was going to be an issue with time management especially on how to access the Olympic venue. One should note that the concern here was how to take care of the whole world converged on one place, all wanting to go in one direction, and nit just once but on a daily basis for most of them. Many countries had brought many teams to participate, save for their nationals that came on their own to observe the event. Therefore, from the word go planners were poised to deal with the issue of time management (Hu 1).

In their initial planning, the London Olympic committee had floated the idea for a possibility of setting aside 274 kilometres of road in the city to take care of the bulging Olympic traffic. Mr Johnson, the mayor of London, had revealed before the event kicked off that they had considered reducing the 274 Km to about a third after other considerations. Observers have
