As noted, therefore, conservation calls for initial identification of characteristics of the environment and hence having an informed decision on the move to make. The study of canopy ecology is an innovative idea towards the protection and conservation of the tropical rainforests. These natural environments and ecosystems are invaluable to Earth and its inhabitants far much beyond the material products they pride to provide mankind. Tropical ecosystems help support all forms of life from the smallest to the largest, adding invaluably to the biodiversity characteristic of the world.

Losing these ecosystems would, therefore, render a big blow to humanity. Rainforests in the world provide humanity with air to breathe through photosynthesis, and the life-sustaining process carried out by plants of all types. This is one of the extremely important conversion processes where waste gases are converted to useful products for use once more and hence the sustainability. As indicated in the article, conservation practices are not to be undertaken as long-term visions but as priority practices that need more than just mere planning but also innovation (Lowman, 2009).

The use of canopy walkways as a means of conservation fulfils this idea of conservation. First, the canopies ensure that the earth retains the benefits of having a positive ecological balance through the conservation of trees and even the endangered species. Secondly, canopy walkways promote to a large extent the ecotourism. Through ecotourism, the sustainability of the conservation measures is ensured from the collected funds and the reputation creation. As the natural tropical environment is quickly disappearing due to human encroachment and climate change as observed in the case of Amazon, creativity and innovation must be put into action.

One such move into creativity entails bringing the good and beneficial environment from the ‘wild’ into the
