Black women still suffer this problem as society views the woman as an individual who needs to take care of the house and be faithful. Currently, many Black women play both father and mother to their children as their fathers are absent. The Welfare mother reveals Black women as lazy and not willing to work.

Summary of Dude you are a Fag

In her book, Pascoe is seen to examine masculinity and the ties it has with sexuality. Pascoe aims at understanding the connection between sexuality and gender as they are set in social institutions putting more focus on high schools. In the book, adolescent masculinity is frequently seen as supremacy that is presented not only through behavior but also sexualized discourse (Pascoe, 329). It was revealed that there are many different ways in how boys exemplified masculinity and acted out. A common way used by boys in asserting their heterosexuality and masculinity was by using the word fag. Boys commonly use this word than girls. This word was used in portraying the masculinity and heterosexuality of the boy who used the word. Fag was feminized and set as a homosexual status.

Summary of Night to His Day

In this book, gender cannot be inherited because it is not an ordinary phenomenon. Society is responsible for creating gender and it takes nonstop teaching, education, and implementation process by generations. Other individuals ascertain that gender comes from differences in physiology such as differences in female and men's reproductive organs and genitalia. This is not true because gender and sex are not the same (Lorber, 55).
