Letter to the editor 25 march New York Times Re: Hate takes the Bus by Charles M Blow Dear editor, I would like to comment about the article which was posted on your magazine on March 11 2015. From sociological perspective point of view the writer was on the right path and the writer imagined that some outcomes in the society are because of our actions. We need to be having full knowledge of sociological imagination which refers to capability of a person imagining and being able to understand the interconnection between social structures and personal biography.
The author of the hate takes a bus applied the sociological imagination well because he commented about how the behavior of the boys was going to affect the world. Our behavior is highly influenced by the people who are around us. The outcomes which we expect from our deeds are mainly shaped by social norms. In regard to the article Mr. Charles pointed out how the Millennials had accepted the marriage which was caused by interracial dating. He also mentioned all the factors which contributed to racism and how they could be minimized.
He was not only thinking about himself but on how to help a whole fraternity of white people. The author of hates takes a bus thought of different alternatives of the situation of racism so that he could get the solution to the problem. Though he is not a sociologist he handled the case as one, he applied well sociological imagination. He put in mind that the action of people where of great importance to him in writing of this article. The author explains in depth how the world will be affected or influenced in the future if all the young generation who were involved in discrimination which he describes as a bus would not change now.
From sociological perspective point of view the generation should be able to pull away from their current behavior and engrave new motives. People should think outside their daily routines and look at them in as a new situation. Sincerely,Wright Mills.
