The distinctiveness in decision making and power give rise to conflicts. There are two main sociological views, one is conflict perspective proposed by Karl Marx and Elite theory perspective proposed by Wright Will. These theories state that inequality of power distribution in society lead ruling class with more power over others which give rise to conflicts therefore, that must be resolved in order to get a desired or successful outcome. These theories are discussed in the paper with specific reference to online businesses.

This theory was proposed by Karl Marx. This perspective is mainly concern of certain factors such as, unseen power within the capital system, discrimination in societies, all classes that exist in the society, how different functions of society serves to the capital class and weakening the other class etc. This conflict mainly focuses two groups, the ruling class and the working class. The ruling class facilitates their interests at the cost of other group. Marx has executed this concept on small businesses referred to as “Petty Bourgeoisie”.

This means that either to join working class or to join ruling class if you have adequate funds to start a business. Thus, one occupies it and other produces it. This is then give rise to conflict and struggle for control over profit in society. Classes cause discrimination in the society but Marx believes that every single individual has its own power which is in coherence with each other and nature. There are many studies exist in the literature which supports this statement and further added that individuals became incarcerated when their actions are controlled by something in order to facilitate the capitalist system.

So, it is concluded that society is a vibrant unit continuously transforming and driven by class conflict. While functionalism states that society as a complex system running collectively in order to endorse
