Therefore, when one of them is malfunctioning, then the whole system is left in a state of anarchy. This explains why the failure of the government to provide the local people of Ferguson with the necessary support to improve their livelihood has played a significant role in increasing the intensity of the demonstrations (Lawler 90). This is despite the society playing its role in the payment of taxes in order to support the operations of the administration. This is the reason all people of all ages came to the street to express their anger towards the failure of the government to play its role as per the constitution of the United States.

According to the conflict theory, the rich and elite in the social force the social order on the weak and the poor. This is the reason why people in Ferguson felt that the government has been ignoring their grievances and instead of putting more focus on serving the interests of the minority few (Lemmings and Ann 87). In addition, they felt that the rich were ignoring their presence and they are only needed during the voting time.

If the situation is not arrested in the next one year, the minority groups in the society will join together against the rich and the elite. This is likely to create division in American society. Therefore, the government should intervene before the situation gets out of hand. Read More
