CAN MARRIAGE BE SAVED? Can Marriage Be Saved? In my opinion, marriage can be saved between individuals who are educated and are among those living in beyond the social middle class. Many individuals have today entered the marriage institution for wrong reasons like pregnancies or societal pressures. The end result of the marriages is divorce because years into the marriage, the couple finds out that they are not compatible with each other. Lack of employment opportunities and education leads to single parenting of a child because either of the parties feels that he or she has been strained by the other who is not working or is uneducated.
When family pressures like school fees are minimized, then chances of misunderstandings or conflicts are reduce hence marriage as an institution is encouraged. To change the institution of marriage in our new generation, good examples should be put forth for children to emulate. An example is that a child who grows up with one parent because wither of the parents divorced or separated from the other, develop a perception in his adult age that separation or divorce are normal occurrences in the society.
In order to maintain the marriage institution, both parents in a marriage set-up should strive to work and get educated to their best as this will assist in understanding their level of understanding between each other. This essence is that this allows them to enjoy a middle life style where they will not fall short of things like resources to properly nature their families. ReferenceFurstenberg, F.
