Overall Teen Drug Use - Coursework Example

             Several factors have tremendously contributed to the decline. One of the factors is that a large percentage of students consider Marijuana a dangerous drug and thus disapprove of any beliefs considered beneficial. In addition, the media has played a great role in fighting against the use of Marijuana and another illicit drug.  In connection to that, as opposed to the earlier times, it is very rare to obtain Marijuana, and this is a factor that decreases its use. On the other hand, the survey indicated that there has been an increase in the use of inhalants in all grades. However, the 8th graders indicated consistency in usage. This is because the inhalants are obtained at less expensive prices, are legalized, and are easy in getting them. Therefore, young adolescents that are unable to have an access to illicit drugs go for inhalants.  However, these statistics may be biased because the survey used a sample of students that are in school, and never considered those adolescents that are out of school. It would be efficient if the survey entailed the adolescent population without cutting a thin line between those in school and those out of school. Even though, it is conclusive that a high proportion of 8th graders have indulged in using inhalants as opposed to the upper graders. This indicates that if correct measures are not taken, this group may later graduate to using illicit drugs.

            Escape from Planet Earth by Brendan Fraser, James Gandolfini, Jessica Alba, and Sarah Jessica Parker is a movie released on February 15th, 2013. The Metascore uses 8 critics in classifying the movie and the reviews emanate from mixed and/or average reviews. In addition, the user score used is 6.2 out of 10.  The movie is about Scorch Supernova, who is an astronaut and is trapped when he responds to an emergency that emanates from a fatal alien Planet. Generating a Metascore that is unbiased is pretty tricky and the Metacritic used is carefully determined by a high proportion of the world's most esteemed critics.  The critics collected are assigned scores and a weighted average method is used in summing up the range of views. The Metascore used ranges from 0-100 and the higher scores determined by the number of critics and reviews indicate a better general view of the movie. A higher Metascore means that the movie will sell out well in the market as opposed to a movie that has fewer critics. The Metascore is highlighted in three colors for simple comparison.
