Your Least Favorite Person - Essay Example

My Least Favorite Person My least favorite person is a relative of mine who has a tendency to rule over the younger generation of our family with aniron hand. She bosses us around and uses threats and coercion to get her way knowing that the younger members of the family will do her wishes simply because they are not strong enough to oppose her. She is the kind of person who refuses to change with the times simply because it is inconvenient for her to do so and will signify that she does not have control over the young generation of our family.

She is a sociability violator in the sense that she insists that her way is the best way and nobody is allowed to oppose her or they risk a beating. It does not matter if the rest of the world does not do things the way that she does. All that matters to her is that things get done her way. This is how she weakens the stronghold of the norms as we know it over the people she wishes to control. By doing so, the creates her own sense of normalcy thus allowing her to create a new form of norms that suits her needs specifically.

She is a social deviant in the sense that she does not believe in following the norms of society as we know it. Rather, she insists on making society conform to her beliefs. It is my opinion that a person like this must be brought to a psychologist in order to help her understand that she poses a problem not only to herself but her family as well because she refuses to conform to society regulations. This may help her get over her dictatorial style of dealing with family and instead allow them to develop as individuals.

Since I know that this person will not change in her ways for she has spent all her life that way, I have chosen to simply ignore her bullying and coercion and stand up for what I believe to be the correct norm. In a battle of wills, I believe that the younger generation can prevail in this case because even our parents support our cause as they too had to deal with this troublesome aunt during their time as the young generation of the family.
