Eddie Izzards standup comedy fulfills all the aspects required to perform a successful humorous performance. He uses various techniques that make his performance distinct like mimes, language body gestures etc. He incorporates the use of three most famous theories of humor which makes his work a complete humorous performance. He also applies various linguistic theories in order to convey his message effectively. He tries to cope up with all the situations that might arise during his performance. He uses humor to point out the reasons of failure of different cultures and societies.
The theories that seem on point are superiority theory, incongruity theory and relief theory being used according to the situation. These theories illuminate a performance by adding depth and affiliation to the humor.
