Extract of sample "The Decline in Traditional Families Rate"

Traditional families recognized as traditional nuclear families comprised of a male and a female who live together and share a sexual relationship that has been accepted by the society and the agents of society and these two individuals have at least one to two children. In such families, females were considered as a housewife who manages the activities conducted in a home and she is not paid for all the chores conducted by her. In these families, men are seen as bread earners of the entire home, due to this he is considered as the one having the authority to make decisions.

A major concern of the sociologist has been the decline in these kinds of an American family who were expected to maintain social order. When individuals say that the American family is in decline, they refer to the depreciation in the number of traditional nuclear families caused due to various reasons. According to statistical data, the percentage of such families during the 1960s was 44% of all family types, and during 2000, these types of families have declined to 24% (Brym 456). This has happened due to variations in different kinds of families that are being created and taken place.
