Also, Asia is one of those regions where the prevalence of this disease is very low. Countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand have shown a significant decline in the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the past few years. The reason is the implementation of some very profitable and large-scale AIDS prevention programs. Thailand and Cambodia are politically supporting and funding such campaigns. These programs have been more successful when they are aimed at sex workers and their customers. High-profile AIDS prevention campaigns tend to discourage careless sexual attitudes and encourage the use of condoms.

Hence, we see that governments in many countries have started supporting HIV/AIDS prevention strategies, programs, and campaigns. There has also been an increasing awareness among people regarding the drawbacks of carelessness in sexual behavior. Abstinence-only programs are spreading awareness about sexual health resulting from refraining from sex until marriage and sticking to one partner. Such awareness and efforts will lead to less risky sex in the future which will automatically result in a low prevalence of HIV/AIDS.
