My area of interest is particularly in the field of cognitive, developmental, and social psychology. Cognitive Psychology is defined as the study of the mental processing of information received by the senses relayed to the brain for analysis and interpretation thereby generating reactions and responses. The developmental study, on the other hand, is related to the way the mental facets along with the senses develops and functions. Together with Cognitive psychology, developmental psychology explains how and why people react and respond to certain external stimuli, and dictates how we make use of logic and comprehension once the external stimulus occurs again.

Social Psychology on the other hand studies about human behavior, all together they are interrelated these studies explain how man interacts and relates to the world. This interests me because I believe this the most logical and definitive way we understand even the most complex of all behavior. With what is happening to the world at present, it is important for us to know and understand how and why ideologies develop, thereby enabling us to identify as well as point out variables necessary for immediate intervention.

Through which, we can prevent catastrophes that are purely man-made.However, like any other branch of scientific studies, psychological research involves three methods to choose from, they are the experimentation, correlational designs, and descriptive studies. Since experimentation allows the researcher to determine the relationship between the cause and effect, I believe I will encounter no misgiving on this area since this is the best way of checking and verifying my diagnosis. A descriptive study, on the other hand, allows the researcher to conduct a behavioral observation that is essential in identifying signs of manifestation.

Again, I can see no misgiving here as these are aspects of scientific studies that have been well-founded even with a young curious mind. It is in the correlational studies where I find critical because it requires the identification of variables but does not probe on the causes. It seems to me like that this correlation of variable only allows the identification of what is wrong but neglect the area that answers to why and how it occurs, which for me does not encompass entire research at all.

I believe that a good psychological researcher must be able to find out the areas affected, identify the problem, probe its beginnings and development, process the degree based on manifestation and finally gather all necessary data for further studies and then make a conclusion. Any scientific research would require the hypothesis to be backed with essential factual explanations. What excites me about psychological research is the vastness of available theories that explains the complexities of our minds.

That this aspect of science has been engaged and challenged several times for theories that are conflicting and sometimes inaccurate, which proves only that one theory is not enough to define how the human mind works. It is so magnificent to note that human behavior is so complex that its study would require constant update and evolution along with growth. That this science is not exact but constantly evolves is something that will remain a source of curiosity and probe. With that, I know that for as long as humans continue to live, science will never cease to study it.
