In the past, women had been referred to as minorities and subordinates to the male gender and were discriminated against. Their rights were violated and thus they were not treated as equally as their opposite gender. Affirmative action is a way of reconciling with the past mistakes and mal treatments made against the minority groups. If affirmative action is implemented for the female gender, they can benefit in the field of education as well as employment.
