Farhad, a Persian shopkeeper, is a character shown in the movie who seems to appear too bizarre about feeling the prevalent racial tension in the atmosphere to connect with anyone in society and always remains insecure about everyone he comes across with. Following the unfolding events in the story, it is discovered that Farhad becomes offender of cultural bias while another character, a Hispanic locksmith Daniel, turns out to be the victim of cultural bias. In the first seen involving Farhad, he is seen arguing with his daughter Dorri in front of a gun shop about gun purchase.

Dorri apparently seems to argue against purchasing gun but seems to be intent on buying a gun as he always remains wary due to cultural and social tension in the atmosphere. The mind of the gun shop owner gets fueled with prejudice and he shouts a racial insult at Farhad after growing impatient over the argument he and his daughter are shown having. In another scene, Farhad is shown arguing unreasonably with the Hispanic locksmith Daniel who tries to explain that the door of his shop needs to be replaced.

Farhad grossly misunderstands Daniel’s reasoning and accuses him of cheating. This is where the racial tension actually exacerbates because the next day, Farhad finds his store in a wrecked state and immediately accuses Daniel behind the damage done to his store. As there is no tolerance when racism is skyrocketing, Farhad hastens to find Daniel’s home address and the first thing he does upon reaching his place is shooting him at a point-blank range. The character of Farhad is about insecurity, isolation, wariness, prejudice, and aggression.
