The values are mostly adapted to legal prohibitions since alcoholic drinks and consumption of pork is outlawed in my country. Other values of my culture are the prohibition of some kinds of entertainment to limit the spread of immoral words and images. Family values in my culture prove that indeed culture is a set of values because of the following facts; families are tended to be extended, taking family responsibilities seriously, value nepotism and naming. Set of values making up a culture consists into ethical, societal and aesthetic values.

Consequently, culture reflects on the sense whether a deed or decision is correct or immoral. A set of values determines an individual’s approach and behavior; hence forming a unique and distinct culture according to the type of values a group of individuals has. These values are likely to be shared among to a large group of individuals forming the culture. People in my culture are reluctant to elect a leader who is an atheist since they perceive that a leader should possess the value of being obedient to God. b. Culture is learned Culture is conveyed from one age group to another through learning.

For instance, I had to learn aspects such surfing the internet since humans are not born with the skills; thus, culture is learnt (Brinkerhoff, 2008). The society has to adapt to learned behavior to fix aptly in the society one is living. There are countless things individuals can learn depending on the nature of the culture involved such as rituals, traditions, customs, and folklore. For example, when I was born, I did not know how to do a number of things such as using the internet and how to type, but through edification, I am now able to do all; hence, adapting to the contemporary culture.

The surrounding has a significant influence to a person since it concludes the behavior and perception of individuals rather than predetermined genetic coding. Culture is learned from a person’s senses and experience he/she has when interacting with other individuals, and follows systems of reward and punishment. The culture can be attained through the following process such as imitation, conditioning, suggestion, formal and informal instruction, or through mass media. Section 2 a. Structural Functionalism In this theory, culture is perceived as a multifaceted system whose structures work together to promote harmony and constancy (Brinkerhoff, 2008).

The sociological theory majors on structures that define how the society behaves in the manner, for example, government, law, education, and religion. Consequently in my culture, the government has set laws that guide citizens on ways of behaving. There is definite culture in the institutions like learning and medical institutions since they operate in a similarly guided by the same policies. All of the institutions are carefully structured according to the Islam religion. The religion book, Quran, is a significant factor and contributor when forming laws and rules for these institutions and the populace.

For example, learning institutions need students to study the book despite the course they are undertaking. Gender inequality is a core aspect in my culture, since each person knows his/her roles in the society; thus, making functions in the society run smoothly.
