She is only 16 years of age and an active member of the Waikato teen volunteers. The group works closely with a resident branch of Control whose mission and purpose in life sheltering wild animals. To help Faye in this mission, she created a Facebook page called Re-home Waikato, and through Facebook that, Faye publicizes the homeless dogs needing a family. One may wonder, how did such a young girl become quite passionate about helping poor animals? Well, the journey begins about a year before her newfound life's mission when Carey volunteered to work for a week at the pound.

Faye remembers when she used to take dogs and puppies in the Shelter during her first day at the animal Control, during her final day, the dog she took was still at the Shelter, and she felt sorry for the dog.  This moved her to take the initiative to publicize the dog on TradeMe, where the puppy caught quite the attention of many. At last, the puppy ended being adopted in Auckland. A platform like Facebook came at such an opportune moment in Carey's life as she was trying to find a home for the abandoned animals, and she needed someplace she could advertise for without spending any money, and Facebook came in handy.

So far, the page has gained quite a massive traction with about 16,000 likes and a fan base of novel and well-satisfied parents of abandoned puppies. The page has helped the Shelter to get the dogs into new homes faster, taking with it much pressure that would have otherwise affected it. Faye has been able to help the Shelter present the dogs perfectly, according to Vaughan Oliver. What Faye does might seem quite easy, but it is not considering that she spends her Fridays at the animal control doing activities such as preparing the puppies and dogs brought during the week and taking pictures of these puppies which, she has to put on her page.

Additionally, Faye has to spend another three hours at most each night systemizing a channel and finding the most appropriate way for new customers to view the abandoned dogs and puppies, also, she makes sure to set up adoptions and also reply to messages sent. All this work can be quite stressful, because apart from her work at the animal shelter, Carey has to attend to her school work and other home chores. However, Carey says that she can do all that due to her dedication to the puppies and dogs at the Animal Control.

At the least, the Shelter receives about 20 dogs a week. Most of these dogs require adoption. The majority of the incoming puppies are the ones that are found roaming, but also, in the same pack, Mr. Oliver says that they also get dogs that have been rejected by their owners.  He says that Faye help has been extraordinary to the animal shelter, as it can now be able to new parents for the dogs quickly. Faye, after graduating from high school, says she would like to pursue a career in Animal Control.

And the feeling from the animal Control is mutual; Mr. Oliver and the Shelter would love to keep her on board, and says that she has been a blessing to the Animal Control.
