The plastic surgery is covered in the same section. It provides introductive details on plastic surgery, which covers sections like the history of plastic surgery, types of plastic surgery and various implications of plastic surgery. The impact of plastic surgery on art has been prevalent at the beginning of the 1990s. People have used plastic surgery for aesthetic and appearance improvement purposes. The reason for people opting for plastic surgery varies from appearance improvement to an opportunity to increase the social acceptance within the society.

There are various ways artists have used human body, figure, expressions, and emotions in their artistic presentations. The use of human beauty in the famous art movements has given the realistic presentation of that particular contemporary period. There are various artistic movements like expressionist movements, surrealistic movements, modern sculpture, canal art movements, and many others. Each of these had certain characteristics which make them different from each other. The differences in each artistic presentation were due to the basic differences of themes, basic materials utilized, color schemes, the period of development of that particular art form and many others.

The expressionist movements were characterized by the freedom of expressions, ideas, and views of artist whereas the modern sculpture was characterized by the use of sculpture for the presentation of art. The surrealistic movement was associated with the visual art. One of the famous artistic presentations which have used the modern medical facilities and surgical processes for the artistic representation was Orlan’s art works. Her Carnal Art movements have been one of its own kinds.
