Writing Assignment Mr. President, the issue of terrorism in America is not new to our ears. In fact, the reason for the formation of the Department of Homeland Security was solely in order to deal with terrorism threats targeted on Americans and on American soil. As such, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has come up with a new community-policing program that will enable the security agencies to enhance state security as well as contain the threat of terrorism within the country (Collins, CW Productions, Markowski and White 55). This program involves the common American citizens. This is because terrorists are not strange to use, but live and reside with us within our homes and neighborhoods. In addition, the people who harbor these terrorists are the ones that receive the first blow in case these terrorists attack. Therefore, this program targets at encouraging the general public to partner with the police and other security agencies by reporting any suspicious characters within their community, resident, or towns to the security agency.
The program dubbed “If You See Something, See something,” is a program from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) geared to raise public awareness on the indicators of terrorism and any other terrorism-related crime, as well as emphasizing the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate state and local law enforcement authorities. This program is in line with the mission of the DHS, which is to protect the country against any terrorism attack following the 9/11 terror attack on American soil (Kumamoto 45). Therefore, the DHS is best suited to undertake this program by enlightening the public about all terror related crimes or activities in an effort to bring the public into the prevention program of terrorism within the United States. This is because it is not possible for the state policing agencies to be at all places in the country at all the time. As such, public knowledge and public awareness on terrorism enables Americans to take part actively in the efforts of the DHS to maintain security within the country.
This is a new program launched by the DHS to prevent terrorism within the country by putting every responsible citizen on high alert over the presence of a terror threat within his community or neighborhood to protect the country. This program is very effective in solving terrorism as it enables the general public to identify and play an imperative role in the prevention terrorism, which we all have to accept that it is a big headache to the American public, especially following the 9/11 terror attack on American soil that claimed thousands of innocent American lives. This program has great impact t the fiscal budget of the DHS, as it requires the department to launch a countrywide awareness campaign simultaneously in an effort to increase the country’s preparedness to prevention of terrorism in the country (Steinhardt, 2010). As such, it will require a huge budget stemming from the experts who are to go out and enlighten the public, their travel and accommodation expenses, as well as the equipment, appliances and equipment needed to train the public adequately of all kinds of terror crimes and terrorism activities within the country.
I would like to call your attention to this program Mr. President, as it plays an important role in prevention of terrorism within America. In addition, this program will be instrumental in enhancing the security of Americans in order to make the country much safer that before, as well as avoid any possible terror attacks in the country (Stich, 2008).

PHY100 Writing Assignment 1

...PHY100 Writing Assignment Rubber band is formed from the naturally occurring polymer. In a piece of rubber band, the moleculesare all tangle up with each other when in outstretched state. When a rubber is stretched however, it loses its original shape because the curled molecules are driven apart. The rubber band is able to stretch because its molecules are tangled together in unstretched state thus elasticity occurs because the molecules curl up when released. Since a rubber band is made up of many polymer chains, when in relaxed state, the molecules have significant freedom of movement and vibration, however when it is stretched, its molecules have less vibrational energy thus less freedom of movement (Breithaupt, 76)....

...Shame: Poverty and Background Dick Gregory’s non-fiction work in Shame is an illustration of how background and race bring about hardship and shame. However, there exist alternative ways through which happiness can be attained. The account proves that by emulating someone one esteems, even the underprivileged can lose ones pride. In Shame, Dick stands out as a poor boy that lacks a father. Moreover, he lives in the slums. However, there exists a girl; Helene Tucker, that Dick is attracted to (Lunsford, 2013).
