List and describe your level of interest and participation in hobbies, activities, and groups not associated with school. List any awards or honors you received in the past two years. Hobbies are not just pastimes but rather they are a way of following one’s leisure time in a more productive and creative manner. They give an individual an opportunity of pursuing their passions and interests in a fun-filled and pleasurable manner. I am more of an artistic person and find satisfaction in soulful music and photography where I can capture the interesting moments giving them a touch of my imagination.

Apart from these leisure pursuits; what I enjoy the most is travelling. Whether it be exploring the nature or going out to exotically and culturally diverse places; travelling excites me the most. I have always accompanied my family to business trips. My parents are in the furniture manufacturing field and they travel around the world for various international fairs and events. I visited the Milan International Furniture Fair in Italy and Singapore International Furniture Fair where the local furniture products were exhibited.

These business trips not only increased my understanding about different business strategies but also gave me an insight to the international corporate standards. The interest in outdoor activities encompassing travelling to diverse areas originated from my yearly family holiday trips. My family has a tradition of exploring a different yet exciting place every year after school break. The holiday trips used to be to beautiful and culturally different places like Thailand, Australia, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, New Zealand and United states.

Each country held new adventures, customs, and heritage to charm us every time we visited it. These family trips were not just holiday trips they were a perfect opportunity for all us family members to spend quality time with each other. It strengthened our bonds and brought us together as we explored the world together. The world is full of thrilling places which lie ahead of us to be enjoyed and experienced. I strongly believe in experiencing everything that a new land offers and this interest has led me to various exploratory activities everywhere I travelled.

Hiking, horse riding, white water rafting, family ducking and zip line adventures brought me closer to the mother Earth’s attractive places and these experiences proved to be very revitalizing. Hiking up the mountains of Yosemite National parks and top of the Vernal Falls refreshed our body and souls. This gave us a sense of accomplishment and we ended up praising the beauty that surrounds us as we came across the diverse animals and plants while hiking on the mountains. The sounds of the chirping birds, rustling leaves, flowing water streams and the refreshing breezes are the priceless gifts experienced while hiking.

White water rafting at Arkansas River in Colorado, Mukawa River in Japan and Merced River in Yosemite was another experience that is unforgettable for me. Rafting also gave us an opportunity to view the surrounding places like mountains and greenery. Rafting is a breathtaking activity which is filled with many adventures. A winter holiday means the magnificent snowfall and with that comes the great outdoor sport of skiing. One place I remember the most is Hokkaido, Japan which provided an ideal place for skiing for beginners like me.

I had the chance of enjoying this sport through my travelling interests as my homeland; Thailand has a hot climate throughout the year. Capturing significant family moments or beautiful landscapes is another pastime that I enjoy. Collecting these pictures in the form of creative slideshows and short movies is a very interesting activity. It not only increases my photography and editing skills but also captures beautiful moments in an artistic manner forever. My curiosity in music and the instruments led me to learn trumpet.

Playing my favorite instrument helps me relax and gives me a satisfaction that I find nowhere else. Music keeps my soul at rest and is an escape from the world’s daily frustrations and anxieties.
