Younger’s has become edict of using mobiles and internet. They have made their own world and they think they are the king of that world. Fm radio is also the reason of raising the usage of mobiles. Younger’s listen radio programs like talk shows, live match commentaries, musical shows. They listens these programs especially in their ways like while going school, universities, on their jobs. And through internet young people could easily search their favorite films, songs, games and vice versa. Therefore, the internet attracts the younger’s so much. Mostly younger use social networking sites and they have many friends in these sites like on Face book, Orkut and many others. Firstly younger’s use internet just for enjoyment and having fun but with the passage of time they become edict of internet and has started to stay away from their families, friends and especially from their studies. RESEARCH METHODS There are two types of research methods qualitative and quantitative. QUALITATATIVE RESEARCH METHOD Qualitative research method is based on observation and no scientific methods are applicable on it. There are two types of observations first is to simply observe and draw a conclusion and second is to ask questions from the other person and draw a conclusion. Observational method consists of observation of an individual by a trained observer can take place in a natural setting (watching a child interact with classmate) in an experimental situation. Observing a student, when he is trying to complete a test deliberately, designed to be too difficult to finish in the allotted time. QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH METHOD Second type of research method is quantitative research method, which consists of systematic and scientific research method. In this method, the first step is to examine hypothesis and systematically further steps are followed. In this presentation, qualitative research method is followed. DATA COLLECTION IN QUALITATIVE METHOD There are two ways of data collection in qualitative research method, primary data collection and secondary data collection. In the primary data collection, data has to be collect from the direct source and in the secondary data collection data is collected from the surroundings and not from the direct source. Our group members went to several schools and distribute questionnaire between 11 to 14 years regarding the uses of mobiles and internet. In addition, we have written some answers in the next topic. BBC GOALS AND DRIVES APPLICABLE According to the BBC, behaviors of the people have remarkably changed due to the heavy exposure of media. In addition, the people have now especially the children totally rely on media and they have started to forget their real culture, norms and values. CATEGORIES OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR According to the BBC, people use media for fulfilling their two basic perspectives .Guy winter, senior behavioral scientist of digital media group has done research on human behaviors, which are related to media (Brooker 2003). He estimated two categories of human behavior that are linked with media. First one category is cognitive goals and the other one category is emotional drive. There are five cognitive goals, which have to be fulfilling, that are relax, stimulate, challenge, inform and discover. In addition, there are five emotional drives that are; stability, isolation/company, aesthetes and pleasure, self-realization and identity, contextualizing the individual, socialization, self-expression and self-actualization (Winter 2004). COGNITIVE GOALS Cognitive goals ask what people get from media; how they use media, what are the main reasons, which attracts people towards media as compared to other enjoyments. What are the reasons that people prefers to use media as compared to doing other tasks. RELAX People use media for taking relax (Gunter 2000). People get tired from their day-to-day activities so they prefer to use media like the children who are in between 11 to 14 prefer to use internet for taking relax like playing games on internet, chatting with their friends. Use of social networking sites has also been increased in children who are in between 11 to 14 like Orkut, Face book etc. and when they asked why they use these sites so they said they feel relaxed while using these sites. STIMULATE Stimulate means to motivate, to impress, to attract from something. Media like TV, radio, newspaper, internet, mobile phones are all have that type of material, which stimulates the person the person towards it (Ang 1996). Like the children who are in between, 11 to 14 years extensively use internet for playing games it means internet attracts the children and children want to spend their time on internet while chatting with their friends on social networking sites. Children of that age are highly attracted towards smart phones, which is very attractive and have many features like high deficiency, compact digital cameras, blue tooth, media player, GPS navigation units etc. CHALLENGE: Then the thirds one cognitive goal is challenge, challenge means a person wants to watch, read and react on that type of material that is threatening and challenging. Two types of challenges, continuous and manifests are related to media. Continuous means as if people are in the mood of reading threatening news, want to watch talk shows in which political party’s fights, wants to see horror movies downloaded from internet. Exposure of these types of programs arise different opinions and arguments between people. Like the children who are in between, 11 to 14 like to watch horror movies and cartoons (Gillespie 2005). Second type of challenge is manifest, it is a mental and physical challenge that motivate person to use the media. Like the children who are in between, 11 to 14 like to play fighting games on computer because these types of games need dedications and enthusiasm (Winter 2004). INFORM: After that the fourth one cognitive goal is inform it means people want to get informed and for taking day-to-day information. People are likely to use media like reading newspaper (Nightingale 2003), listening and watching news on radio and television and listening and watching talk shows on radio and television for being informed for the current scenario of the political situation in country. Like the children who are in between 11 to 14 years want to be informed for the upcoming movies (Mackay 1997), game so they use search engines from internet like Google is the highest rate search engine in younger’s (Winter 2004). DISCOVER: Last one cognitive goal is to discover. Every person has a drive to discover the world realities and want to learn things from environment. There is natural machinery in every person, which motivates the person to discover new things. Like the children who are in between 11 to 14 years have a high amount of urge to discover the world so they use internet for searching through which they search new games which are launching, information of new mobiles are easily available on internet and the children search the information of new mobile at a very high rate. Learning is the important part of information. In addition, the media has made it very easy; you can learn anything through searching from internet, from educational programs on television etc. EMOTIONAL DRIVES: Emotional drives are the behaviors of people towards media. They link their emotions with media. For example to know, what incidents are happening in the world from the media is a cognitive goal and place you are giving to yourself in that incidents are the emotional drive. Like every person connects their emotions with their own mobile phone, television and computer (Ofcom 2010). STABILITY: Very first emotional drive is stability. Stability is the basic need of every individual. This is very much necessary for every person to interact with other for his or her mental stability. Media takes you away from day to day daily routine life and tensions and gives you a relaxation like the children who are in between 11 to 14 years uses internet and mobile phones for their stability. ISOLATION AND COMPANY: Second drive is isolation and company. It means media gives person a full time company and the person does not feel isolated. Like the children who are in between 11to 14 years use computer and internet and does not feel isolated. As in 2009, use of consol games has been 18% increased and in 2010 uses of games, 23% has been increased in 11 to 14 years old children (Ofcom 2011). AESTHETISM AND PLEASURE: The third emotional drive is aesthetism and pleasure. This emotional drive gives satisfaction to every person .like the children who are in between 11 to 14 years old uses internet for taking pleasure like by using social networking sites, by chatting and by playing games and according to Ofcom, UK children literacy 90% children this age use internet (Ofcom 2011). SELF-ACTUALIZATION: Self-actualization is the basic force motivating the person is self-actualization-a tendency toward fulfillment, towards actualization, towards the maintenance and enhancement of the organism. A growing person seeks to fulfill its potential within the limits of his or her hereditary. A person may not always clearly perceive which actions lead to growth and which actions are regressive. However, once the course is clear, the individual chooses to grow rather than to regress. CONCLUSION: Media has a drastic effect on the growing children, 11to14 years. Usage of internet and mobile phones are increasing in growing children day by day. 35% of children of that age are the owners of smart phones.90percentage of the children use home internet and 58%of the children prefer to use internet lonely. Children have made their own fantasy world and isolated themselves with the real world. REFERENCES Ang, I. 1996. Living Room Wars: Rethinking Media Audiences for a Postmodern World.
