Introduction Education and propaganda are two ways of feeding people the information that they want and need for particular issues in the society inan academic sense. Basically these two perspectives are commonly mistaken as being similar without defining the vital specifications of comprehension. Technically, education is said to be the result of a process. Almost all issues are covered by education while propaganda is the diffusion of the information targeted at encouraging other people to believe on a particular issue. Thus, it is important to know how to distinguish education from propaganda in order to have a clearer view of what the subjects convey. Discussion Generally, education falls into a broader sense of learning and understanding. Education starts at home when a child becomes conscious of the environment, hence the child starts to learn and be educated by his or her influencers. Any experience that one might encounter accounts for education that has an effect to the physical abilities and character of a person. Technically, education is known to be taught by schools, universities, colleges and other that will eventually reflected on the acquired values and skills of a person. Many areas have to be considered when talking about education as it scopes a broad sense. Education suggests the technicality of the subject and learning a specific subject. It may be broad though but education varies and covers only the contexts which make sense to the main subject. This can be defined through the levels of learning in school that the teachers instruct the students. Also, education requires specialization for the teachers to teach and can only teach a particular subject. Elementary level is usually the starting point of education in school up until the institutions of higher learning. Being educated is the right of all people according to the law and this applies to the all countries. The right to education is one of the Human Rights and obliges that all the responsible parties should guarantee the people of being educated in school. Importantly, education has various terms that need to be considered in order to compare and contrast with other kinds of learning such as propaganda. These terms refer to the definition of instruction, teaching and training. Instruction is said to the way of teaching through a specific goal that is conducted by an instructor. Teaching is the general term for the actions that the instructors give out to the learners in order to share the values and skills of the specific subject. Training is the kind of learning where the trainer prompts the students of trainees to a particular requirement such as the caregiver trainings, how to properly manage employees and various subjects that needs further knowledge. On the other hand, propaganda is somehow compared to education as having the same depiction on how it gives information to the other party. Dissemination of the information in order to affect opinions and behaviors of the people is the main point of propaganda. A person can be educated through the propagandas of a certain organization and be knowledgeable about a certain topic specifically the social issues (Cunningham, 2002). Propaganda does not have to be taught in school though unlike proper education which deals with technical teachings. Differentiating the two, propaganda gives information in a basic mode and not significantly be the master of that particular subject. In propaganda, the main goal is to influence the audience and not to teach unlike education. Through the basic facts provided, it initiates an encouraging factor to present ideas which will result on an emotional feedback. While education deals with its technicality, propaganda caters to the emotional and social effects of the information presented to the audience in order to motivate. It somehow manipulates the cognition and behavior of a person in order to fully comprehend with the presented facts by the propagandists (Cunningham, 2002). Education is taught through the schools, universities and other which appeals to the intellect of the students, while propaganda is usually conveyed through advertising and public relations. Establishing a good rapport with the audience is indeed a good way of persuasion. Usually, propaganda has certain types which can be accounted for the parties where they belong. The term propaganda has been prevalent as a political or nationalistic view of sharing information regarding a specific issue. Propaganda largely affects how religious issues are being accepted by the people most especially the issue between the Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant churches. Propaganda basically differs from education through the main goal of disseminating information. Propaganda literally means to spread the information about an issue and influence the people to believe in. the contemporary era used the term in various ways and may mean differently depending on its usage. But mainly, propaganda visualizes political aspects of the government and social issues which is important in shaping one’s belief and perception (Cunningham, 2002). Conclusion The comparison and contrast of the two forms of disseminating information is in the sense of technicality and emotionality. Yet, the two terms generally means to inform or give facts to the audience and feed people the information needed, the two largely differs on its goals. Education is more of training and requires a lot of technical senses while propaganda is a way of influencing one’s belief. Education is a must and is considered to be a human right while propaganda is not; it just depends on the perception of the audience on how to respond to the given facts. Education is usually done on a formal setting and requires a curriculum that the teachers will use, while propaganda is shown through advertisements and public relations. Education is largely different from propaganda just on how it disseminates information. Indeed, education is a very broad sense of learning and it almost scopes all the stages of a person’s life because education starts from the very basic experience that a person encounters. The best teacher though is experience and theories are learned from school that needs application afterwards.
