The Pensacola Christian College and The Haredi College - Essay Example

In 1996, an alumnus called Peter Gage initiated an electronic newsletter known as The Student Voice. The newspaper negatively criticized the school and discouraged prospective students from seeking admission to the college. The student also attacked the demerit system utilized in the college. This is because it is unfair for a student to be sanctioned based on incorrect information or perception. In April 2014, one female student called Samantha Field wrote an online article that accused the college of failing to give her adequate support after a rape incident within the college premises. 

But the college has experienced several controversial issues. Recent media information illustrates that the college is about to be closed, due to approximately $1.7 million debt. Several other Heredi colleges are experiencing financial challenges; for instance, Lander College which has filed for bankruptcy, and Makor HaMayanot. The Ministry of Education in Israel gave the responsibility of financial management at the college, to an accounting firm.
