College Transfer - Admission/Application Essay Example

College TransferMany a times, people, especially students, have misconceived the whole idea of transferring schools and made it look like a bad thing to do. However, I tend to believe that transferring a school is the most courageous and good decision a student can make to shape their future and career. However, it only works best for students if the decision to transfer is propelled by very valid and compelling reasons. As for my case, there are various reasons that have been pushing me to conceptualize the idea to transfer from Anza College to Loyola Marymount University in San Francisco.

These reasons and how I tend to achieve my objectives are as discussed below.The first and most important reason that compelled me to transfer from Anza College is the fact that I really need a challenge. I feel like my classes are too easy since my GPA is rising every time, yet I don't see it reflected on my mind and ability. I, therefore, cannot compete fairly with others in the job market. It is one thing to have your GPA go high, and another thing to be equipped with proper skills and experience required to compete equally in the job market.

At Anza, I don't feel the challenge and that can build the competence in me to convince me that I'm doing enough to join the market out there. Another reason to transfer is the fact that I would want to move from a community college to at least a bigger university like Loyola where I can learn much through good exposure. It is a fact that community colleges are mostly meant to accommodate local students who do not want to go away from home. Such colleges, in most cases, have no adequate facilities and resources to offer high standard education like the bigger public universities.

I, therefore, feel like I need to move to Loyola Marymount to join a much larger group of students with wider variability in various sectors that make learning become more challenging. Loyola also creates that challenging environment as it has more programs and students. I also have a problem with the location of Anza College. It is located near my home; therefore, I have to go back home all the time. Frequent home visits make me lose focus in my studies as I do not ensure continuous concentration at school.

I would, therefore, wish to transfer to Loyola that is far from my home to help me have more time in school with my books. When I transfer to Loyola, I will be determined to achieve several objectives to make me stay on course with my career. First, I would like to ensure that I acquire a part time job to do in town or around the school to help me with adequate experience in my career. Secondly, I would like to start up a campus club in collaboration with the administration that promote innovativeness among students in the university.

Thirdly, I would like to create many good friends to form a strong network in terms of career development and study groups to ensure that I acquire knowledge and experience even from my peer university mates. I hope to see my GPA, as well as my mind and readiness for the job market increase simultaneously after the transfer. I also promise to work even harder to cope with the possible challenges that I intend to meet at this new university. I'm ready to for greater heights and hope that my wish is granted.
