RELIGION TILTE Non-traditional Religions Interesting Aspect of Christianity The most interesting aspect of Christianity is that it influences us to love our enemy. It tells us that if someone forgives their enemy for all the wrong things he did, Almighty God will forgive their sins. It also teaches us that it’s better to forgive, than to take revenge. Taking revenge is considered as sin in Christianity. Aspect of Non-Traditional Religion One of the aspects of the non-traditional religion that separates it from the traditional ones is that they focus lot on “energy”.
They think that the energy present in the universe as well as within oneself and can do wonders. They focus on the fact that energy present in the universe must not be wasted but it should be used for the betterment of mankind. They do not focus on the scientific concept of energy but they have their own separate definition for it (Non-traditional religion, 2008).Reason People Join Nontraditional ReligionsPeople usually join non-traditional religion because they agree to the beliefs and view of that particular religion and because they disagree with the facts and principles present in their own specific religion.
Another reason is this that these non-traditional religions are based on the belief and details derived from everyday life. Therefore people relate to them more easily than to the traditional one’s. The newly formed religions or the non-traditional religions have components of self-exploration which allows an individual to understand and explore oneself more, rather than focusing on outer sources or making their followers believe that there is a higher authority and its obligatory to please him with your actions.
Comparisons Baptism in Sikhism and ChristianityThe Sikhs are baptized at the Gurudwara. At the time of baptism it’s obligatory for them to wear the five K’s which are kirpan (dagger), kachera(specific undergarment), kangha (a wooden comb), kesh (uncut hair) and kara (iron bangle). This is done in the reminder of the battle the Sikhs fought against the Mughals. In Christianity, at the time of baptism, the person is immersed in water and then taken out. In Christianity baptism is an act to make the person pure and holy and to induce the person in the faith of Christianity.
Caste System in Hinduism and Sikhism There is no such influence on caste system in Sikhism. Sikhs are either baptized or non-baptized; nothing else is there to create a division. Sikhism is a belief that promotes human equality. In Hinduism, there is a great influence of caste system. The highest caste in Hinduism is the Brahmin, whereas the lowest are called the “untouchables”. Proselytizing in Sikhism and Judaism In both these religions there is the concept of proselytizing. Judaism as well as Sikhism both faiths allow their followers to call the people and preach your faith to them.
Proselytizing do not however means a forceful act in both the religions. The meaning in proselytizing in both the faiths is to preach to the world the teaching of your faith and gain followers. Sikhism and ChristianityChristianity is a religion which shares most common beliefs with Sikhism. Sikhism and Christianity both the faiths start by believing in a single authority. Both the religions believe in human equality as there is no specific caste system found in both the faiths. There is the concept of baptism in both the faiths.
