There are no correct or wrong answers in a self-assessment test. Once one has proper information, they can make an informed decision on careers that are suitable to them among other decisions. Of course one will need to consider other factors as well when making a decision. A self-assessment test will reduce possible errors in this process. In this paper, we will discuss the results of the writer regarding emotional intelligence, cosmopolitan and work-life balance. Emotional intelligence is the ability of an individual to identify and manage their own emotions and those of others (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013).

It mostly included the skills of emotional awareness, harnessing emotions by applying them to tasks like problem-solving and thinking, and the general regulation of one`s emotions which also includes cheering and calming down other people. This is important to be aware of as it affects your day-to-day activities. In case one realizes that they have low emotional intelligence they could need to see a specialist to enable them to improve on the same. On taking an Emotional Intelligence test, I scored 25 on self-awareness, 24 on managing emotions, 13 on self-motivation, 27 on relating well, and 17 on emotional monitoring.

Relating to people and self-awareness is one of my key strengths by this test. This is followed closely by monitoring emotions. As is clear these three measures are related to one another. For you to be able to relate well to people you need to be self-aware and manage your emotions properly (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). I can say that this report was correct as these are some of my strengths in real life. In this modern world due to globalization and technology, one needs to have the skills and capability of working with anyone, in any country and culture.

It is therefore important for one to be aware of how they are faring in regards to being cosmopolitan. On taking this test, I scored a 20. This is moderate meaning am not so weak in it nor is this one of my strength. It is also important to note that this score identifies me with the employing organization. With continued practice and training, I can work with any culture in any country. Work-life balance is crucial to ensuring that you are re-energized to perform your tasks. Regarding the family demand score, I had a rate of 4, in the case of work demand I scored a 3.

For the work-family conflict I scored 3.33 which is above average and therefore I need to work on it. The family demand score is at 4, and in the US it's at 3.53 which is something that I need to work on as it will affect my performance at the place of work.
