For the length of this thesis, a self-administered postal questionnaire was used in order to gather the requisite data. The results of the survey indicated that Health professionals felt that the promotion of baby bonding was very important. They outlined that some level of resource was available to enable them to promote bonding but also identified that further resources would be helpful.There is a desire to turn the hypotheses into final results within this dissertation and no stone has been left unturned in order to achieve the very same.

The results of the survey manifest the very same notion on all counts and the effort that has come about with the completion of the task at hand is apparent enough to be recognized.In the United Kingdom, there is a general awareness at the policy-making governmental levels that “Mental health disorders in young people impact significantly on the lives of those affected, and on the quality of life of those around them. Wider society pays a high price for the failure to tackle these problems effectively.

 Collectively the cost is reflected in social disruption, poor educational attainment, physical and mental ill-health, anti-social behavior, and the financialCost related to each of these”. (Vision, 2005).The same documents opine,” The link between childhood disorders and the development of mental health problems in adulthood is now well established. It will be society’s failure if we do not break free from this vicious circle that condemns generation after generation to suffer from social exclusion with all its associated problems.

In short, child and adolescent mental health is a public health issue and is everyone’s business.” (Vision, 2005) Government Policies were driving forward with recommendations for Prevention and Early intervention In 2004 the Department of Health placed Greater emphasis on prevention of illness, The NSF for Mental Health (1999) recommended promotion of mental health and wellbeing, NSF (2003) acknowledged that children with poor outcomes can and should be identified.
