Working with others The interaction between two or more human beings requires a certain specific set of norms. These norms may very basically require language, medium, level and various other aspects to be the same. My experience in this course which included maximum mutual interaction and engagement helped me learning a lot. This included time to time interaction, presentations, debates, participation in group discussions and various other resources of mutual dependency. In each of these cases I learnt many things and my experience is therefore worth sharing. Few of the basic skills that we were taught and how we came across them include the critical thinking based skills, developing an argument, leading the conversation into a more productive output based interaction are few of the aspects and points which were the broad line agenda of the overall learning process and program in the given curriculum and class. In order to be able to work with others, certain parameters and requirements implement which need to be incorporated accordingly in order to ensure maximum utilization of the resources and making the best working team and working unit. While engaging in interaction with folks and other members in a group, the first and foremost aspect is to be aware of what the other person is up to and what particular agenda is at hand. For this reason the critical reasoning and critical assessment of the problem and statement at hand is highly important. The critical reasoning and assessment enables knowing the limits of the topic, personal knowledge and then implementing and executing it according to the required level of topic and the situational debate at hand. Argument is an integral part to any interaction between two people. Learning the art of being able to argue and enact good interactive talk is also a challenge. This particular course and class helped me learning the art of argument. The art of argument includes listening to others in detail, allowing them to talk, letting them complete their stance and later on responding back according to their raised agenda. Hence handling the argument in a decent and educated manner is an important part of my learning that I attained from this course and program. To be able to prepare the argument in such a way that it leads the listeners to a clear view point with regard to the purpose of argument is very important. Going by the basic rules of language the argument must have a mix of number of elements in it. These include declarative style in them. This accompanied by the interrogative aspect to the overall conversation which includes questioning them or challenging the thought if incase it is felt that the thought process does not co relate to the mind and should be changed or discussed in a different way. Logical reason in the argument gives the overall argument more strength in terms of the discussion point and allows for a better engagement skill as a whole. It helps winning the debate too in more serious environments. Agenda based interaction was the core function and feature of the overall class lectures and interaction. It enabled making the overall discussion more effective and fruitful with regard to the common point at hand and bringing out more output in terms of productivity from the overall discussion at hand. Agenda based discussions, meetings and conversations are beneficial in many ways. They allow for utilization of time, they allow for preparing a common agenda which can be discussed and debated against the given problem at hand. It further brings about more dynamic and vibrant outlook supported response from the overall discussion and interactive sessions. Working in team has number of advantages. For future and practical life, the team work allows adjustment with regard to sharing the common space and surface in the practical life. It further allows adjusting to the different tasks. These tasks may include becoming the active and parallel group member or simply becoming the team lead in the various cases. In either cases, working in the group allows for practical demonstration and preparation which may be used more effectively in the longer run in the practical life. Hence this is one of the many benefits and outputs associated with working in the team. It ensures thinking about other people as well without largely excessive self centered approach. Since the output of the team directly impacts the overall performance of the individual and vice versa, it is therefore important learning how to take the group along and in turn brings out the most successful output from it. Various models and samples are taken up for the purpose of ensuring that the overall group based activity and discussion so engaged turns out successful and effective towards the sole reason of engagement . One common model that is used in this regard for the purpose of group based activity is that of OK Corral. It gives out detailed elaboration about the need for group based discussions, its importance, its overall impact and its success rate and factors that contribute to it. it tells us of what is to be done in what circumstance and what is to be avoided in the given circumstances so as to be able to assess the overall situation in more effective and more realistic manner altogether. Four variables that are assessed for with regard to the broader group based discussion and each individual are the alienated approach against the apathetic approach and the other two variables in this regard which are given against this model include the anarchic and ascendant based model and patterns. While some of them are good for the mutual engagement and interaction, there are several which lead to the overall strangulation and suffocation within the group and largely resulting in the loss of group harmony and excessive authoritative and bossy environment which does not auger well for the broader perspective based interest and objective of the project and class activity at hand especially in this case. Out of the four categories and broader observation based analysis, it can be revealed that the ascendant based model is more suitable for working in the group. It allows for accepting what others say. Further, it enables knowing what your stance is through the mutually consent based exchange of views through an equal opportunity based platform. Through this model it can be established that the Anarchic models are most deadly and dangerous for the group discussion and engagement as it includes excessive authority and further, it at times leads to one dimensional exchange of information leading to obstruction of ideas, flows and communication. This in broader term leads to frustration and as a result the purpose of the group is not fulfilled and the members feel alienated on account of one dimensional and imbalanced flow of communication. The OK Corral based model helps knowing each of the variable through the mention of the function of OK. If one is okay, and the second person is not, it leaves the overall discussion and group participation less active and less engaged. OK in both the columns which includes bearing with what other people tell and delivering according to the requirement is also an essential part of the OK corral based model which is an efficient one with regard to determining how to engage conversation. The various models and learning process adopted in the various class lecture and through the use of OK Corral method are not just limited to the verbal expressions. Rather they can be used for the purpose of written communication while interacting in groups and delivering the message in a clearly defined method which allows for more active participation and true representation that depicts the writing of a more learned and soberly educated individual who knows how to engage the group and be able to address them accordingly. Overall, in the class the work groups have performed their tasks very successfully. This includes working according to the demand and requirement of situation. Furthermore, allowing each to express his and her opinion made for a more dynamic and relatively more effective outlook based interactive process. Working on group helps in multiple ways. One of the benefits of working in group and interacting is that one learns new concepts. Even if someone is short of knowledge in a given area and domain, working in group helps overcoming it. This may be done so through the method of discussion or asking the other people to elaborate on the given point and issue which may lead to more active outlook as a whole with more amount of learning by the end of the discussion and communication. Overall, the given program has helped me in multiple ways. I am sure it will help me in my future projects both in the academic life as well as the professional field of interactive learning and operational activities where I will have more active and more dynamic group members which would require further smarter efforts and contributions with regard to bringing about success as a whole.
