Then provide alternative approaches in reorientation that satisfy the other individual’s needs. In the case of Javier and Alice, introduce the concept of Alice working as a side income and Javier remains the provider. The action will satisfy both individuals’ needs and encourage the use of the democratic process.

The Alice family is a democratic type where members take the opinions of individuals into consideration before making a decision. The family also gives relatively equal opportunity and attention to both genders. The family of Alice is socially oriented rather than being self-oriented. The family of Javier is self-oriented with the father controlling every decision. The father of Javier overprotected some of his children while neglecting others especially girls.
