Culture and Psychology Culture and Psychology Peers and bullying have become synonymous terms in the twenty-first century given the frequent incidences of bullying that are being experienced in schools. Ideally, the two words should not be used together since they insinuate the opposite of each other. A peer denotes some sense of equality in terms of either age or a particular stage in learning at school. Peers tend to be friendly to each other as they share a common of things that make them free to each other. On the contrary, bullying is a situation where there is inequality between people of the same age as one of the group views itself to be superior over the latter thus making them to have no choice but to be subjective to the superior group (Cook et al., 2010).
The minority group based on immigration history, race or ethnicity is often the target of bullying since the superior group tends to project their differences as a weakness or rather a weird thing that makes them be looked down upon. Pain from the experiences of bullying that people experience tends to make them abrasive not to put up with bullying but to raise and protect themselves or their groups but opting to bully others. However, culture plays a great role in this issue. If a child was brought up with the right values and morals he/she will least likely to engage in bullying since the differences in others will not be a big deal as long as they are peers (Gelfand, Chiu, & Hong, 2011).
Animosity is an emerging issue that is fast shaping up due to cultural clashes as the world is becoming increasingly globalized. Since each group prides itself with its identity, in the even they clash may be based on religious faith or ethnicity there will be a sort of animosity that will come up between the groups involved and in some cases it escalates to violence. For instance, the clash between the Jews and Muslims in the Middle East has increased into the animosity that has led to violence that has claimed thousands of lives. In studying a complex issue like the cultures of people and the ramifications involved in comparing various cultures quantitative methods of research are ideal since they tend to be more valid as compared to the qualitative methods (Kitayama and Cohen, 2007).
Quantitative methods are more pragmatic as they will involve an expanded sample space thus beating the shortcoming of a skewed sample space hence ensuring the outcome of the research to a large extent tries to come up with a more definite picture of the reality on the ground. Indeed, rituals influence the consumption patterns of people. For instance, it is our tradition in agreement with our feeding routine to take drinks after any meal. It implies that any meal that is served in the house should have drinks as accompaniments. Thus, even if I am going to have a meal at a restraint, I will have to order a drink to accompany it in agreement with my feeding ritual (Fiske et al., 2010).

... Globalization In this piece, Robert Wright uses history as a bastion of globalization. He terms the fall of the Twin Towers as coinciding – around the same time – with the fall of globalization. Globalization is manifest destiny that has been attained. It is vital to note that it also differs from the 19th century focal point that was about expanding America’s borders. This new brand of globalization was about values. For instance, Wright argues that, America’s values of both economic and political liberty have already spread beyond the borders of America. He points out that globalization was sort of pre-destined and inevitable. However, it is not only the ancient societies that resisted globalization but also neo-conservative... Globalizatio...

...?THE CELLULAR BIOCHEMISTRY OF CULTURED REINDEER CELLS i) The signaling pathway for the degradation of FuIL protein. Cellular signaling pathways are activated by both intracellular and extracellular factors (signals). These act on receptors either on the cell surface, the cytoplasm or the nucleus. They then induce a cascade of events that lead to the cell performing certain activities, such as division, motility, apoptosis, and in this case, protein degradation. In this specific scenario, the signal is extracellular in origin. Due to the rapid response, and nuclear events caused by the factor Santa, it is most probable that it acts on nuclear receptors. The santa factor may bind to its specific receptor in the cytosol... CELLULAR BIOCHEMISTRY...
